"Excellent small hotel - Highly recommended"
This is a small, fairly newly built hotel on the outer part of the centre of Bratislava. It is well served by trams very nearby. 2 routes go into the centre and old town and one route goes directly to the main railway station.
It is within walking distance (about 20 minutes) of the old town if you do not stop on route. You probably will because there are many things to look at on the way.
The hotel abuts the Bratislava Tennis Club (hence its name) and you will more than likely be woken in the morning by the gentle sound of tennis balls being batted. Although the courts are floodlit in the evening the lights are off by about 9.00pm so there is no problem there. Watch out out for mosquitos and other little biters however. They congregate round the floodlights and then look for somewhere else when the lights go off. Make sure it is not your bedroom. This is not a serious problem but needs watching.
The rooms are excellent and have good firm beds and decent furniture. There is a nicely stocked minibar in each room and the prices are cheap. Each room seems to have a free cable broadband connection and for those with wi-fi there is a connection point in the Cafe / Restaurant.
The restaurant itself is very smart and serves a very decent buffet breakfast. In the evening they serve a good selection of food and their menu covers both local and international dishes.
The Cafe part is open all day and also has a menu with a good selection of snacks and meals as well as the usual assortment of drinks both soft and alcoholic.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of them have limited English but try very hard to communicate. The Manager, who you will often find on reception (it is a small hotel) is particularly helpful and has a very good command of English.
The rates are very good. You can get good deals with several internet bookers and the hotel itself seems willing to give good deals direct as well.
I cannot reccomend the Hotel Club too much. I will certainly be staying there the next time I visit Bratislava and I hope that is not too far away as the city itself is amazing.
