"Attractive hotel with lots of character"
A very pleasant stay in a pretty hotel with lots of character. Great location too, near Tunnelbana station, and within easy walking distance of several restaurants (OK and Pelikan highly recommended). The hotel is attractively styled, though not luxurious. We had a standard double room with a sitting room area which contained a good quality fold-out double sofabed. However, when it was open it impeded passage through the connecting door. It was (for Stockholm) good value for a family stay if a little on the small side. Our only niggle was the lack of storage space (for anything!). There were only small bedside tables and a tiny wardrobe (big enough to hang 2 coats). A chest of drawers or larger wardrobe, or even a hanging rail behind the curtain, would have made our stay more comfortable. Staff were helpful. Cold buffet breakfast adequate. Lovely churchyard and church behind the hotel. Heard a commotion in the middle of one night, and was told it might have been someone on the top floor (the 'annex' rooms), which put me off considering one of the cheaper rooms in future (but I could be wrong).

Great little hotel in a great neighborhood in Stockholm. Stayed in the annex, at a very good rate (for Sweden). Room was large and sunny, bathrooms very clean and nicely designed. Breakfast great and pleasant. Overall, an extremely pleasant place to base for a visit to Stockholm, and a very interesting neighborhood. Highly recommend it.

"Good find with character"
My wife and I stayed here for four nights during our three week trip to Scandinavia. I booked this hotel strictly based on the reviews from this web site and I am glad I did. To begin with, you must visit the hotel's web site to read about the history of the hotel. Of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip, this was the one that excited my wife and I the most. The staff was extremely friendly and answered the numerous questions we had about the city from where to eat to where to do laundry. There are no elevators (lifts) in the hotel. Thankfully, we only had to go up one flight of stairs to get to our room. The hotel is decorated very nicely and you can feel the history of the building. Our room was nice and very clean. The breakfast was average, but I liked the fact that the hotel had happy hour until 9:00pm each night which allowed to buy cheap(er) beer. I am use to getting of work way after happy hour ends back home so this was a nice surprise. The hotel also had a free computer with internet access for guests. Another thing the hotel requires is that you leave your key with the front desk each time you leave the hotel. At first, I thought this was going to be an inconvenience, but it turned out well and it was nice to worry about one less thing as you are out sightseeing and one less thing to lose as well! The hotel is located outside the main city, but is very easy to access via subway and a short walk. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance. The price was of good value and the hotel had all the amenities we were looking for.
