"Memorable stay at the Hotel Continental Terme"
We have just returned from a week in the Continental Terme. After a long journey it was disappointing to find that the rooms were not ready – some people had to wait in excess of an hour and the Reception staff were not that apologetic. The rooms can be described as small and basic, but comfortable (not of the 4* standard experienced in other hotels). It does seem that some rooms are better than others dependent on the location in the hotel. The hotel grounds are well kept and tidied regularly. The pools seemed clean and were a pleasant temperature – we were not told before arrival that it was compulsory to wear swimhats in all pools. These had to be purchased from the Concierge (only at a cost of 2 Euros). The food in the hotel was excellent and the restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. The variety available at the Gala Evening was outstanding, although it was rather busy with virtually all guests being seated at the same time. The hotel does stand on one of the main roads into the town, this could be very busy at times but it was not noticeable once inside the grounds. It is approx a 20min walk into the main port/shopping area and uphill on the way back. There were however taxis always available. We travelled with Thomson holidays who offered various excursions, the Rep didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable about what was on offer and the trips offered by the Concierge (discouraged by the Rep) were equal if not better. All in all we found this an enjoyable holiday and would return to Ischia, and this hotel. 7 days is not enough to discover all that is on offer. Don’t forget the ice-creams – they come highly recommended!!

"If you are lucky enough to have booked this Hotel........."
If you are lucky enough to have booked this hotel then you are going to have a great holiday. The hotel is very light and airy and very clean. The hotel is designed to be low level there are no builings above three storeys, this layout makes the hotel feel very spacioius. The facilities are excellent and the food fantastic. Once a week the evening meal moves away from the dinning room and a buffet style meal is provided, the choice was amazing and the standard very high. The entertainemt was limited to evenings in the piano bar but if you want something more lively then the town was only a short taxi ride away. The staff are very welcoming, efficient and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is not in the centre of the main port or shopping area and it is on a busy main road, however you are never aware of any noise from the traffic once inside the hotel and should you wish to visit the town then it is 15 minute walk or a short taxi ride. My husband and I only went for 1 week but we really did feel we had had a great relaxing top notch holiday and we are already looking to return to the same hotel for 2 weeks next time.
