Hotel Information
Enter an entirely new world where ambience, cordiality and superb service reign supreme...

Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is housed in a more than 200-year-old grain-drying warehouse from 1787. For centuries, this building and location on the waterfront have been at the epicentre of amazing events. Time and the hotel's maritime history have been instrumental in creating a unique atmosphere that attracts guests from all over the world. When you step into Admiral Hotel, you enter an entirely new world where ambience, cordiality and superb service reign supreme.

The hotel is right on the waterfront where picturesque old schooners and yacht moor. Today, the original warehouse with its rustic charm, rough brick walls, great archways and 200-year old beams of Pomeranian pine sets the framework for modern hotel comfort in a class entirely of its own. All interiore furnishings have been specifically designed for the hotel, whose equal is neither found inside nor outside Denmark´s borders.

All rooms are larger than average of both Danish and international hotel rooms. Much emphasis has been put into combining the maritime atmosphere with the unique historical warehouse. The hotel is situated at one of Copenhagen's most beautiful and fashionable addresses right on the waterfront. Closest neighbours are Amalienborg Castle (the Queen's Palace) and the beautiful park Amaliehaven.

The exciting layout of the hotel's senior and conference suites, including new conference sections with wood flooring, and impressive solid conference tables, ships décor, and Tripp Trapp's famous deckchair, completes the maritime theme and creates an unparalleled conference setting. The upper levels offer an easterly view over the harbour promenade, and the tranquil inner harbour, and to the west, a magnificent view of the old city's towers and spires with Amalienborg in the foreground.

"Great hotel for the price"
We stayed at this hotel for the long weekend over Easter and we were really impressed. Great location and a great price! I was slightly worried on reading other people's reviews about the noise level. Certainly there wasn't great sound proofing between rooms, but it didn't bother us too much and we didn't need the earplugs I had brought just in case! The room was a great size as well, the bed was extremely comfortable and we even had a small sofa, chair and table and still had lots of room. The staff at reception were very responsive to any of our requests, in contrast to other reviews I had read. Yes, it's a huge hotel so if you need the personal touch this isn't for you. But we enjoyed our stay and I would choose to stay there again.

"pleasant hotel"
Very pleasant stay in room overlooking water (I think we were upgraded). Breakfast, included in room rate, was good, except the orange juice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Liked the hotel's situation - not a busy area but easy walking distance to everything. We ate in Salt restaurant one evening but were disappointed by overcooked fish and a slightly burnt taste to a starter item. We had excellent meal the following evening in The Front Hotel next door.

"Definately Recommend this Hotel"
This hotel is well located, just a short walk to the canal and lots of shops and restaurants. Our room, which overlooked the harbor was spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable. We heard some noise through the walls, but nothing that was overly disturbing. It is a unique hotel with brick archways down the legnth of the hallways-- the building looks like it was converted from another use. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was great. In summary, I would highly recommend the Admiral. it is well located, clean, very comfortable beds and rooms, great staff, excellent breakfast buffet. You can't go wrong here.

"Impressive"
My mother and I stayed here in November 2005. We really enjoyed the hotel and Copenhagen. Beautiful stone building in great location on waterfront opposite new Opera House, round the corner from historic Nyhavn area and along the road from Amalienborg Palace. Although our twin room was quite small, with twin beds end to end, rather than side by side, it was very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. Bathroom excellent and well stocked with shampoo, etc. The double rooms I sneaked a look at through open doors looked bigger. We were given a room on the waterside with an excellent view of the Opera House at no extra cost. Superb breakfast was included in price: hot and cold buffet with just about every breakfast item you could imagine. Would definitely stay there again.

"The Admiral is great!"
My husband and I stayed at the Admiral for one night in September, 2006, the final night of our two-week tour of Ireland and Denmark. From the moment we checked in to find we had been upgraded to a junior suite on the top floor, we were delighted with the hotel and its accomodations. The hotel is located in a very old, former granary building, with unusual large old wooden beams throughout the hotel. The room we were given had a large sitting room with TV, couch, spacious bathroom with great water pressure in the shower, and desk area, with a loft bedroom with skylights located above, accessed by a circular staircase. Tres romantic! We had stayed earlier in Copenhagen in the Vesterbro area, but were so much happier with the location of the Admiral, located right next to the Queen's Palace and within very easy walking distance of the Nyhaven canal, with all its eateries and local color. It was just lovely to eat outside, and we took some wonderful photos. The bar area of the Admiral that evening was quiet but elegant, and I had a delicious tropical drink, probably the only night during the trip that I wasn't drinking Carlsberg or one of the other local alcoholic beverages (and not only by choice! Many of the local pubs are quite basic in their offerings!) That night while in bed at 11:30 we were surprised by a great fireworks display set off on barges on the canal. And the next morning we were delighted with the breakfast served in the hotel's restaurant, the first hot breakfast we had, including bacon and eggs since we had arrived in Denmark a week earlier. All in all, I would highly recommend the Admiral

"Great hotel, fabulous location"
We have stayed at the Admiral about three times in the last 10 years...we have always loved the design of the hotel (a converted warehouse on the harbour) but now, thanks to the construction of the new opera house and the move of the ferry terminal to Oslo, it has become very special. We booked a deluxe (harbour front) room by phone on Monday. We had been staying at Scandic Webers and were very dissatisfied with that hotel and we were fortunate that the Admiral had a room free. The rooms are not enormous, but are very comfortable and quiet. There is, however, no AC and I would not stay there in the summer when it can be quite hot. The location, very near Ny Havn and Kongens Nytorv, is excellent for shopping - the lovely furniture and art shops on Bredgade are very close by. The "strojet" or walking street is about 15 mins away. There are loads of good little restaurants in the area. The hotel has re-done its own restaurant and it has a good reputation though we only ate breakfast there which was very good indeed. If one is going to the Opera it is THE place to stay because the hotel has its own ferry across the harbour to the opera house!

"Absolutely Ideal"
We stayed in the Copenhagen Admiral for three nights in March 2005, and we have no complaints at all. Yes, if you want to be picky I'm sure you could find faults (as you could even in a 5-star hotel), but in simplistic terms this is an extremely good hotel, in a perfect location (near Nyhavn), and reasonably priced - what more do you actually need? We booked through Expedia, and paid £280 for the three nights, including breakfast - the room was large, and airy, with a view of the harbour. The breakfasts are very good, and the staff are extremely helpful. If visiting Copenhagen again, I would definitely stay in the Copenhagen Admiral.
