"Total Relaxation"
This resort is such a relaxing place to spend some time. We stayed for a week but we could quite happily have stayed for longer. Coral Island (or Ko Hae) is situated about 15 mins by speedboat from Chalong Pier (Phuket). The resort will arrange pick up for you if you like or you can get there on your own quite easily if preferred. We booked the two interconnecting rooms which are right on the beach (there are more further back) and unfortunately our flight was cancelled by the airline who offered us a flight a day earlier instead. When we phoned the resort to tell them, they were very helpful and told us that we could have the beachfront rooms as arranged, but not for the earlier night as someone would still be in them. We were pleased with their honesty as we have stayed in other places in Thailand and asked for beachfront rooms and showed up to find that we've got a room at the back, overlooking someone elses air-con unit! Something to remember if you are travelling to this island is that when the tide goes out, rocks and corals are revealed. We arrived in style, on the speedboat, straight onto dry sand. Coming back was something slightly different. We had to leave at 6am to get to the airport, however it was low tide and we had to wade out about 50m to the long-tail boat in the dark with our luggage (fortunately the guys from the resort carried most of it) - we had to wear shoes because of the reef - then we all got in the long tail and it took us out to deeper water to clamber into the speedboat which couldn't come any closer because of the reef. So if you do go there, pack lightly, use several bags instead of one big suitcase and if possible, try to time your arrival and departure to coincide with the high tides as it will make your trip much less hassle (but also perhaps less of a laugh!!) The resort itself is mid-range. It is definitely not for someone who wants room service and pampering (there is no spa). It is for people who want to enjoy peace and quiet, are happy to spend most of the day with sandy feet, and who don't mind wildlife. The water in the bathrooms is, I think, desalinated. It still tastes slightly salty but is definitely not like washing in raw seawater. All drinking water is brought over by boat. The food is good, the Thai food as always is best, especially the seafood. The western food is, as usual in Thailand, not so good, but our children quite liked the fact that they served chips with everything! On our last night we asked the restaurant if we could eat on the beach and they were happy to oblige by moving the table and chairs down there (we asked in advance). By the time we finished eating, the sea was beginning to lap around our ankles. Fantastic holiday

"Nice beach and friendly service"
This was my second time visiting Coral Island sinced 1985. My family was picked up by a friendly van driver and then traveled to Coral Island by speedboat which was only 15 minutes by boat. The sea was clam and weather was fine. A young lady welcomed us to the connecting rooms and I found them very simple but comfortable. There were no TV, which was a bit disspointed for my kids. I had known it before from tripadvisor and I wished to have my kids out of TV for couple of days. We spent most of our time on the beach. My little kids and my wife loved playing with fish. I went down to snorkel and found that some coral were destroyed and some were fine. I recognised the fishery department boat was trying to check the growth of coral that they had been planting. I had couple of chat with them and I had been advised that coral were destroyed by people who tried to collect them back home. I felt pitty for those guys who were very selfish. Food prices were expensive if comparing to the town. But I thought it was ok as we were having food on the island where they had to bring all the stock here. It was really surprised to see some European menu here. Shower water was a bit salty as like Phi Phi Island. I did not find it a big deal. We received a spare water for tooth brushing in each room so it was fine. In overall, we were happy here and my kids wanted to revisit here again. I would reccommend this resort for family or honeymooner.

"superbe relaxation and purity"
Definitely far away from any phuket party crowd and perfect for couples or families to spend some very relaxing holidays in the sun and on the beach. It is quite a refugium on phuket and certainly the place to be for those that prefer to read a book, enjoy a cool drink and excellent snorkeling. The sea front bungalows are the best choice. If you want to get to Phuket island: They got Speedboats running at any time although you got to pay a bit for this service. Unless you write a novel, a week on coral island is probably enough because there isn't much else to do then enjoying the beach. But I promise, this week is gonna pass quickly.
