Best Hotel In Budapest
I had the fantastic opportunity to stay 2 nights at this hotel in March 08 when I attended a company paid meeting. Reputed to be the best hotel in Budapest, one expects the best services, amenities and standards, and it didn't disappoint except that the standard double room I had was a bit small. There wasn't an allocated space for the luggage and it had to go in the space between the twin beds. The room would be small for more than 1 person and luggage. The ballroom/conference room was beautiful with ornate plasterwork, portraits and 2 enormous chandeliers. The hotel spa/pool was just as beautiful. There was live piano music at the lounge, a comfortable, relaxing business centre and a nightclub. The hotel is in the Pest side of the river and in a street of shops with the tram stop a few feet away. One could get tram/train/bus tickets at the concierge desk. It is a few minutes walk to the underground train station and ride to the Heroes' Square and other sights around that area, and a few minutes ride in the other direction to the river side of things. All in all a marvelous place to stay at if you can afford it. |

"An excellent Grand Hotel"
We must commend this hotel. Although it is a large conference hotel, the service was exceptional. We arrived while at a major conference was going on and would have anticipated difficulty in getting attention - quite the opposite. The reception team , especially Zoltan, were very professional - the room very comfortable and the spa was excellent. It made the trip to Budapest a delight.

"Avery grand hotel with lots of personality"
We went as a late 50th birthday present for my partner , the hotel lived up to all the things people have written in their reports except for them recommending where to eat. ( we love our food and a nice bottle of wine ) On our first night we eat at the hotels Bock Bistro which we liked very much, lots of locals which is always a good sign. Second night we asked for a table to be booked at Rivalda or Gundel but was told we didn't want to go there , I had done my homework and we had walked passed both in the day.Anyway we went with their recommendation to Karpatia we had the worst meal I/we can remenber( and I have eaten on the streets of Hong Kong/Korea/Mid East etc) . If I said a causer salad was a hole lettuce with only a dressing on it and I wont tell you what the dressing looked like, the rest of the meal was over cooked.
Sorry but this was the night my partner was going to purpose but couldn't .....he did last week in Spetses.......... I said yes.
Enjoy your stay at this beautiful hotel with the excutive lounge an extra bonus ( we paid extra ) . The spa is a must ( a bit cold but you get use to it ) and if you can fit in a message do....... yes I still will recommend this hotel but go to the resturant you want to go and remenber the above !

"Wonderful, Elegant Hotel with a Well Deserved Reputation"
We stayed three nights from Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th June 2007 and thought the hotel was wonderful. It's difficult to add anything new to the previous excellent reviews. We booked a standard room and it was on the fifth floor and was large by European standards and very nicely furnished with a sofa and living room area. The bathroom was great with marble and included a bath and a seperate shower. Our package included breakfast and this was very impressive with a wide choice of hot and cold foods. We ate all our other meals outside of the hotel. About two minutes walk from the hotel is a pedestrian area called Liszt Ferenc Ter with a nice selection of restaurants and bars where we went each evening. The service was wonderful from when we arrived to when we departed and the staff were helpful and polite throughout. The hotel itself has been beautifully refurbished to maintain its elegance while ensuring it has all the modern comforts one requires. It's one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The communal areas are nicely decorated and there is a choice of restaurants and bar areas. We sat in the bar one evening and enjoyed the live piano music. We did not use the spa so are unable to comment on it. The location is very good. Although the hotel is on a ring road we had our room overlooked an internal courtyard and there was no noise. The road outside has two tram lines which one day took us to Margitsziget Island and it is a two minute walk to Oktogon Tube. However the city is not very large and is easily walkable so it did not take us long to get about. It was a real treat to stay there and we would certainly recommend it to others.

"A Great Hotel Package."
All the good things in the reviews are correct. We write to suggest that you get the city package from the hotel. With it they pick you up at the airport or train station and drop you off on your departure.. You get one free 3 course meal, you can be upgraded to the executive level which gets you into their club level for your breakfast, snacks all day, free drinks, and internet access. They have their own cab fleet which are very reliable. The food is good here whether local or a good old fashion steak. If you eat out try the Bel Canto with singing waiters, musicians, and a solsist or two.

"Excellent Hotel, highly
Just returned from weekend staying at the Corinthia Grand hotel in Budapest. 10 of us went for a 30th birthday and the staff were extremely helpful in decorating the room.
We went for the Spirit of the City Package which was good value as it included airport transfers/accomodation in an executive room/breakfast, the inclusive 3 course dinner was poor as it was a set menu but the al a carte menu in the restaurant looked very good. We also had access to the executive lounge which included inclusive drinks and nibbles which were very nice.
I would recommend the boat sightseeing tour - infront of the Marriott hotel with a company called Legends, this was well worth the mere £13 or so for 2 hours.
Varkert Casino was v. good and I was wary of taxi's but we used lots and they were very reasonable, about £3-4 from one side of the city to the other.
Breakfast is very good and the spa treatments are well worth the money. The pool and other facilities are second to none and we made use of them every day. All round I would definately recommend this hotel. It is only 20 mins walk into the centre but more central hotels include the Marriott / Sofitel.

Wonderful hotel
We had a stay at this hotel for a stag party (of which there were 16 of us) and each and everyone one of us enjoyed our stay at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal Budapest. It was a wonderful place to stay very close to the city centre, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were of the very best standard, very clean, tidy and well equiped. I hope to return soon!!!! |

Corinthia Royal Hotel Budapest
A fantasic hotel , even though it was 10-15 days below zero throughout our entire stay the staff and service was second to none. nothing was two much trouble and we could not beieve the offer at the buffet style breakfast. Poached eggs with hot butter poured over and champagne all the way. Try the coffee shop for an experience, the hot chocalete is superb, as was all the food and drink in the hoteland very reasonably priced for a five star hotel. One small tip dont use the phone in the rooms prices are exhorbitant. Budapest is a wonderful city and would go back again next year. |

"Fantastic Stay"
This hotel and city will hold a special place in my heart as my boyfriend proposed on the bridge between Buda and Pest during our stay. However despite this the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal was fantastic. The architecture, decor and scale o fthe building alone is breathtaking. Sometimes in a 5* hotel the staff can be a little stuffy, not here, they could not do enough for you especially the concierge.
On our first night we ate at the Rickshaw restaurant at the hotel, although a little expensive it was undoubtedly the best chinese meal I have ever had. I cannot reccomend this hotel enough and would urge you to pay the little extra to stay there. The location is ideal for travelling around the city, you will not be dissapointed.

"Wonderful weekend"
We chose to stay at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal after reading the positive comments on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The hotel has been beautifully restored - walking in to the beautiful marble entrance hall was a delight each time. The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the city centre, 30 from the river, but the public transport system is excellent if you prefer. Just around the corner from the hotel is a row of al fresco bars/cafes which had a lovely atmosphere in the evenings.
We were upgraded to an Executive Room in the hotel which was spacious, luxuriously decorated and overlooked the Atrium. Dinner in the Brasserie restaurant was superb and we found the service faultless. One of the highlights of each day was the buffet breakfast, which had something for everyone. We couldn't resist a glass of bubbly with our smoked salmon!
We really enjoyed our time in Budapest and would highly recommend staying at the Grand Hotel Royal. |
