"Wonderful value!"
The Courtyard Marriott offered an excellent location and accommodations - very clean, smart, and comfortable. Bathroom luxurious in size and fixtures. Wait staff and housekeeping were very attentative. The front desk personnel were multi-lingual and very gracious hosts and hostesses. This hotel offered great value to the traveller. The restaurant buffet served an outstanding selection of foods. Only stayed one night, but it was great -- value, comfortable beds, great food, super bath facilities -- everything a traveller could want.

"Outstanding hotel in Linz"
Having been to Courtyard by Marriott in various locations in the US, I was not expecting a high level of service or luxury at the Courtyard in Linz. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. I was staying at the Courtyard for business. The staff were very fluent in English (with the exception of a few restaurant and housekeeping staff). The daytime front desk manager and his staff recognized me by sight and greeted me any time I entered or left the building. They did this with several other guests, in the appropriate language! When I had difficulty connecting to the hotel's high speed internet in my guestroom, the front desk immediately sent up a staff member to fix it. When he had difficulty, he went to his office to research the problem and had me online quickly and easily with some simple changes to my computer settings. The front desk called later in the day to make sure everything was running properly and that I was satisfied. I ordered room service for most meals. Room service was quite tasty and very reasonably priced. Meals were presented in a lovely manner with fresh flowers and nicely-garnished dishes. The restaurant staff were willing to make substitutions and handled special room service requests with ease. The guest room was quite acceptable, with a very large bathroom and two twin beds. The entire floor was non-smoking, which was much appreciated. Room decor was standard Courtyard - not lavish, but comfortable and with a big desk that allowed me to get work done. There were plenty of clean, relatively soft towels and the bed pillows were very comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. Television was acceptable; CNN, BBC, and CNBC were the English channels, with the option of several pay-per-view movies in English as well. I also visited the exercise room on two occasions and the equipment there was modern and in good repair. Overall, if my business travels bring me back to Linz, I will stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in a heartbeat. The guestroom was typical Courtyard quality but the staff and service were what I'd expect from a more upscale hotel. At 99 Euros a night, it was an excellent value.

"Good American style hotel"
I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Linz a few months back on business and was surprised by how nice it was given the Courtyard Marriotts I've experienced back in the States. The staff was helpful and pleasant, even though they had lost my reservation, there was no hassle and everything was handled courteously. The rooms were large with American amenities. The shower was big and the shower head was at a good height (a problem at times in European hotels and I am by no means very tall). My only gripe was there was no ironing board and iron in the room, just a trouser press. The buffet breakfast served was large with a wide selection of fruits, cereal, yogurt, cold meats and cheeses, croissants and pasteries, and eggs and breakfast meats. The bar was nice and had a good selection of liquors and beer. We were a big group so we were told to keep it down (those rowdy Americans) but in general we were treated respectfully.
