"Great location for the price"
This hotel was in a great location for the price. The reception was very nice and helpful. The rooms are small but clean. The bathrooms were tiled and nice. I stayed there 2 separte times. They arranged for me to have a taxi at 6:30 AM and I was able to call the USA from my room. This is not a deluxe hotel. It's functional and has a small elevator. My only complaint was the lack of fans in the rooms during the summer heat. There was a lot of street noise only because the windows needed to be opened due to 95-100 degree summer heat. I had a single room with 2 towels in my bathroom. I would prefer to stay there during the fall and spring months due to the summer heat. It's a typical old Parisian hotel with a curved staircase all the way to the top. There are several restaurants close by including Mcdonalds the next block over if you need airconditioning and a quick cold drink. The metro connection had us within minuetes at the Pont Neuf where you can take a boat ride for 10 Euros and see all the bridges of Paris. No one comes to Paris to stay all day in their room so I would recommend this to budget concious travelers and young people. Spend your money in the restaurants and not on expensive lodging.

"Excellent value for the money, great location!!"
The Cronstadt is definitely an excellent value hotel at a great location. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the breakfast room for café au lait and croissants was charming and the proximity of the Cadet metro made this a very pleasant and convenient stay. For those of you who think of your room as a pivot point for tourism, a place to shower, change, and store the spoils of a day at the Galleries de La Fayette, this place is for you. But if you’re searching for pristine, newly-renovated accommodations in which you’ll want to lounge around as the nearby Parisian sites wait indefinitely, you might want to upgrade your choice. Our room was certainly spacious and the cleaning crew did a great job with what they had at hand, but with the time tested carpeting, bedding, and bathroom fixtures, you can see where value and price come into play. Still, the room had a very home-style appeal complete with an extra cot, television, and dining nook and since we were on the top floor we had the quaint, old Parisian cross beams that could be perceived as charming or a nuisance depending on your outlook. The breakfast room revealed the hotel’s varied guests ranging from mostly young international couples, Russian school groups, and older French visitors, some of whom shared the gossip about the comings and goings of their diverse clientele. Again, the location was ideal as it was only a 10 minute walk to the Opera or a 60 second walk to the Cadet metro station. 5 to 7 stops and roughly 10 minutes later and you’re at the heart of all central Paris’ riverside attractions such as the Louvre, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay, etc. The Cronstadt is a dusty jewel with the soul of Paris in a real Parisian neighborhood.

"Great location, great room"
I spent the New Year's Eve in Paris with some friends and we stayed on this hotel. The location was great (just few seconds away from Cadet Metro Station), the rooms very well heated and pretty big for a parisian small hotel (we had 2 rooms: mine was an green-gray and you could easily create the perfect place for a murder there, with a very vague lighting; but the second one was a really energising with a beautifull orange on the walls and with a little more light than ours), very comfortable beds , large bathrooms and pretty nice personal (speaking fluently both english and french). A very good price for its position and for those 2 stars. This is not a hotel for a holliday spent into the room or for the honeymoon, but for those who wants to taste Paris from its heart it is ok, for those who return in the room only when they can't walk anymore or when everything is closed it is perfect. I didn't like the breakfast room (dark and cold) and also the black woman that was serving it ( she was making such noise with everything (cups, glasses, forks....).
