"Great stay"
My husband and I are just back from a three night stay which we enjoyed. We cannot fault the hotel in any way.
We upgraded to a club room which was average size and very clean, with all the extra things you would expect from a club room.
The breakfast that was provided in the club lounge was good. We also could have free drinks, snacks and computer acess in the club lounge.
The staff were very helpful and polite.
We had dinner in a steak house opposite the hotel one night and it was excellent.
The hotel is very near the central station and is in a good location for sight seeing.
We took the train from the airport to central station.Get an open return, it saves you time on your way back. The train from the airport is very straight forward to use and is a lot cheaper than getting the shuttle bus or taxi.
We did not use the tram but we did use the canal bus to get around.
If we were to return to Amsterdam we would use the hotel again.

"Location Location Location...."
Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City from 3-6th May, 2007. This hotel has a great location and is less than 5 minutes walk from Central Station.
Decided to cash in on priority club points and stayed in a two bedded queen room. As a platinum member of priority club this hotel allows access to the club lounge. The club lounge offers a selection of soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks throughout the day and is open from 07:00-24:00 daily. The lounge also has 2 PCs with free internet connection. A continental breakfast is served from 07:00 until 11:00 during the week and is extended until 11:30 at weekends.
Had a meal at the resaurant Dorrius within the hotel which was an excellent experience, typical dutch food and very good service.
Staff at this hotel were all polite, informative and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel.

"Second to none!!!"
We had stayed at the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam for a weekend while mixing some pleasure with a business trip...
The service and friendliness offered in this hotel from the door man. check-in service, concierge etc. was second to none.
Being a Platinum / Ambassador of the Intercontinental Priority Club in most cases upon check-in will get you a pleasant greeting and maybe a slight room upgrade however, at this Hotel we were treated as if we were dignitaries!!
(Room upgrade, concierge lounge, fruit basket and wine!!!) Our room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and really quite spacious for European Hotel Standards.
The location of this hotel is great a 5 min walk from the Central Station, but was in a very safe area, 500 meters from the Tram Stops.
I must admit that we had lots of fun with other guests on the rooftop patio of the concierge lounge watching the sunset on an unusually warm evening in late April.
I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone!!

We always stay here when in Amsterdam. We book directly with the hotel and make all special requests with them directly. Good location, casual bar, good room service, clean rooms. Staff have always been very helpful, especially with more specialized dinning requests. has a pool but we never seem to use it. House keeping does a great job. All in all a good hotel. We will be staying there again in July 2007. Book a club room. Well worth the extra and use of the club room upstairs with a great view over the city.

"Excellent"
Our accommodation was excellent. We had a club room which was on special internet offer rate on the website. With a club room you get free breakfast, free minibar, extra free stuff in the room, your own dedication check-in desk, free wifi, reduced rate on the valet parking, free bar, free easter eggs for the kids etc. The service was top quality. Everyone really nice and friendly. The place was spotless - obviously just been done up. Not cheap, but one of the best business class hotels I've ever stayed in. Thoroughly recommended. Great location too.

My daughter and I stayed in the Crowne Plaza in the centre of Amsterdam over the New Year period. The hotel is very central - a 5 minute walk from Central Station and also Dam Square. Everyone was very friendly and our room was clean and warm! Great place for Amsterdam sights. |

"Great city hotel"
The Crown Plaza is a good hotel with a central location-great for people looking for an action-packed holiday visiting all Amsterdam has to offer.
Our room was a good size and nicely furnished, perhaps a little scruffy but still very acceptable. The restaurant wasn't good for families as food was very sophisticated but breakfasts were nice.
The pool was a really good size and the small shop was packed with souvenirs.
Desk staff were very helpful, organising tours for us and the concierge held our bags for us when we checked out.
It is a bonus to find such varied facilities such as a pool in a central location.

"Great hotel!"
I booked the Crowne Plaza to celebrate a friends 40th birthday, i contacted the hotel directly to arrange a birthday cake and to request the best rooms available. I booked a club room which give a free minibar and access to club room with free bar, breakfast and internet access along with a nice terrace overlooking the city. Rooms were of a good size and beds very comfortable, and the cake was very tastey. a word of warning the free mini bar does not include hard liquor, we had some vodka and bacardi and were charged accordingly. at checkout i refused to pay for this as it was not made clear free only applied to beer wine, this resulted in me complaining about some mould on the shower wall, spoke with manager and they were then able to provide the hard liquor free and in addition reduce the room rate by 50 euros per night. All in all a good hotel and great location, will definitely return and pay extra for club room. nearly all staff very helpful and polite great breakfast
