"Outstanding Service - Loved the Crowne Plaza NEC"
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza on 6th March 2005 as a very convenient base for the NEC.
My wife and I were both absolutely delighted with the hotel in all respects. Check-in was quick, informative and efficient. The lifts were immediately available every time we used them and were extremely quick and smooth. The room and en-suite were beautifully clean and well presented. The bed was just so comfortable and snuggly. Lots of wardrobe and drawer space, and lots of lights, all controlled from the bedside.
The bar was spacious and had prompt table service with a smile. The restaurant (Brian Turners) was absolutely brilliant and easily among the best we have ever been to in a hotel. Very attentive, friendly, efficient and well-motivated staff, and the food was just pefection. We would rarely say that.
Wine list was great, wine was held in an ice bucket and unobtrusively but reliably topped up at appropriate intervals. The staff were obviously mindful of our timescale for getting to the NEC and did the bill settling spot on.
There is a lift that takes you direct to the restaurant and we used that for breakfast. We received immediate attention and were seated to our choice straightaway. Everything for the full English was there, and nicely laid out. Tea arrived immediately and all the staff were friendly, helpful and smiled. Bonus items available were Yakult and Marmite.
Concierge was local and helpful. Check-out was friendly, quick and efficient.
Our overall opinion: Outstanding. We will definitely return there.

"Great hotel!"
We stayed at this hotel whilst we went to see Simply Red in concert. We got a good deal on the room and were worried that we might get an un happy surprise on checking in, but we didn't. The hotel is easy to find and as soon as we got in the staff were superb. Check in was painless, the room was very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Be careful of the room bar though as it is very expensive so bring your own unless you have deep pockets. Dinner was considered but after spying what was on offer at £16 per head we decided against especially as we got pence change out of £10 for a wine and a lager at the bar minutes before, so very expensive there but then you are kind of captive and to be fair those who were eating it seemed very happy but our budget was very tight so we passed. Breakfast was included in our stay and we ate downstairs.
The bed was perfect and me and my wife slept like babies so woke suitably refreshed from a heavy night. Breakfast was fantastic, we had a full english and the Sausages were clearly bought for taste and not down to cost as is often the case, fresh Orange Juice and toast that you made yourself but with nice fresh bread, all superb, in fact I went for seconds as did most people as it was that nice and you know what, the staff let you and just discretly topped up the food, yummy!
Checking out was easy peasy and the on site parking was free!! Fantastic.
All in all I would stay here again with no hesitation, the staff are all absolutely suberb. The most professional and polite I have ever met and I work in the travel industry so I've met quite a few. 10 out of 10.
