"What views!"
I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend over a weekend, and my god what a place. From the decor of the rooms to the attentivness of the staff, it was all amazing. Just 2 mins walk from the hotel is a restaurant with a huge garden terrace with the most spectacular view over prague. we where both in awe at how much of a beautiful city it was (so much for it only being a stag and hen night destination). We spent the days walking around the city taking in all the old buildings, castles and churches around the old and new town, then during the evening getting a bit tipsy on the cheap but really good beer... try an absinth.. OMG!!! For a nice bar try Bugsys bar in the town. its a small but modern cocktain bar, where the bar men really know there stuff. Keep an eye for Marty who works there. Top geezer ;). Unfortyunatly a weekend was not long enough, so we are planning on going back very soon. Prague is now my second home.

"A real gem"
Having just returned from 3 reward nights at the CP this really is a true gem of a hotel. We caught the Prague Airport Shuttle from the airport which took about 25 mins. Check in was quick and simple and even though we arrived at 2.15pm our room was ready. Our "delux" (read standard) room was of a very high standard and there was a bottle of wine and some fruit in our room as a welcome. There was also a letter stating that the hotel was not yet finished so may not yet be quite up to the Crowne Plaza standards. As this is the 3rd Crowne Plaza hotel I have stayed in in the last 7 days, I can say that it already meets the CP standard in most areas and exceeds in others. Also of note is that the hotel has free wired internet access in the rooms, free wireless internet access in the public areas (which reached the rooms on the 1st floor) and free internet terminals in the lobby. For business you could not ask for more. The breakfast in the hotel was the only let down. On the first morning we ate late (9am) and the hot food looked like it had been standing for some time. The baked beans actually had a "crust" on them. For 1100 Kč this was very disapointing and I did bring this to the attention of the duty manager. One expects hotel food to be expensive but not poor quality. This however is the only negative. The staff were attentive and each night we were able to retire into the lounge (with a fantastic painting on one wall) and chill with a local beer however one does have to ask why the dome is plastic and not glass when it is clear no expense has been spared any where else. As for location, even though this is a little out of town do not be put off. There is a tram stop a couple of minutes walk down the road with number 22 and 23 trams down into the city every few minutes. Online reviews advised to buy a 3 day pass but at only 20 Kč for a single ticket it worked out cheaper to just buy a ticket as you needed it. Once on the tram, it took about 10 minutes to get us down the hill into the city. In addition to easy access to the city the hotel is bang next door to the Strahov Monastery. There are a number of places to eat within the monastery grounds. On the first night we ate in the Monastery Brewery where 2 of us had a 2 course meal and several (or maybe more) beers (brewed on site of course) for less than 800 Kč. On another night we ate in the Hell restaurant on the other side of the square. This was more expensive but again, good food. So in conclusion, a gem of a hotel with a few good and cheap (and not so cheap) places to eat within walking distance and easy (and cheap) access to the city. Prague is a very pretty city and this hotel too is very pretty. I would not hessitate to stay here again "when" I return to Prague.
