Hotel Information
....as a place of uniqueness and discovery.
Cuillin Hills Hotel is a good traditional 3 star hotel. Built in the 1870's as a Hunting Lodge for Lord Macdonald of the Isles, set in lovely gardens and overlooking Portree Bay with magnificent views to the Cuillin Mountain range. The hotel offers a good standard of accommodation with a cosy and comfortable feel. Imaginative menus combine traditional Scottish cuisine with highland specialities.
The Cuillin Hills Hotel, Portree, on the famous Island of Skye enjoys some of the finest and most spectacular views from any hotel in Scotland. From the moment you arrive you cannot fail to appreciate the Highland setting of this hotel. Fifteen acres of mature private grounds overlook Portree Bay with magnificent views to the Cuillin Mountain range. The Hotel has been awarded many accolades including the RAC Blue Ribbon award for the 4th Year Running.
Although offering a secluded setting, the town of Portree is a mere 10 minutes walk away, with its harbour and genuine village character.
The Isle of Skye boasts some of the most stunning, unspoilt scenery you will find anywhere in the world where wildlife can live freely in their natural environment. You may catch sight of the rare white tailed sea eagle as it soars over cliffs over 100 feet high, whilst the Golden Eagle can be seen commonly around the Island particularly in the Cuillin Mountains.
May and September are the perfect times to take advantage of the many boat trips offered from Skye as dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks are commonly seen around the lochs and inlets. Seals and otters are common around these shores and can be watched at leisure from certain vantage points as can cormorants, gannets and other seabirds.
Nature lovers will relish the sight of the many wild flowers adorning the croft lands and moors during the summer months. Wild orchids, buttercups, artic alpines and the glorious purple heather clothe Skye in glorious colour, whilst Skyelarks burst with song overhead.
* All bathrooms are fully tiled ensuite and offer both bath and shower. Fresh fruit is placed in all rooms and satellite TV is available to all guests.
For that extra touch of spaciousness and ambience the front facing premier accommodation is an excellent choice.
