"Good Place in Darwin"
Darwin is a very difficult place when it comes to finding decent accommodation. Standards are certainly not very high here and it seems Hotels can charge almost any price they want during peak season.
The Darwin Airport Resort is definitely one of the better choices. I have stayed in Darwin for 3 months on business. The Darwin Airport Resort is the second Hotel I am currently staying in and I would not want to be in any other place in Darwin.
The Resort is located a short walk from the Airport (they also do a shuttle service). Noise is not really a problem. If you want to get to town (not much to see there) you will have to use their free shuttle or a taxi (about A$25).
It is almost brand new so the rooms and facilities are still very clean and in good condition. The rooms and bungalows are very well furnished and fitted with a small basic microwave kitchen.
The internet connection is complementary, although you will find it is very unreliable and many internet pages don’t work. I have complained several times, but I guess they don’t know how to fix the problem.
The pool area is nice, although the water is not heated and hence very cold during the winter season.
The restaurant looks nice, however, like almost any restaurant in Darwin, the food is, at best, ok and not great. It is not cheap either.
The gym is too small to be called a gym.
The reception desk staff is friendly and (for Darwin) professional enough. Don’t, however, expect any personal warm atmosphere when you stay here. I stayed there for 2 months, and they still didn’t remember my face.
When I checked out, all I got was a “you are good to go”. Not even a Thank You that I just spent A$ 11000,- with them.
All in all, if you are an international traveler you will find this place a decent, clean choice. If you are from the Northern Territory, you will think this is the greatest place you have ever been to. You will not find anything much better in Darwin.

"Great for a late arrival"
I booked this hotel as we were arriving from Melbourne at 1.30pm. We picked up a car at the airport and were in the hotel within a couple of minutes. The hotel also run a free shuttle service from the airport.
The rooms were more than adequate, and quite large. We didn't have breakfast as we slept in, but we had a swim in their wonderful pool. The hotel has only been open a short while and everything is very clean and modern. The grounds were very lush and beautifully maintained.
We checked out that morning and moved to a hotel in Darwin. I'm not sure I would recommend staying at this hotel for your whole stay as it is a fair way out of town, and apart from it's own restaurant there wasn't any other shops or restaurants very close by. However, if you have a late arrival or early departure it's ideal, and probably the nicest "airport" hotel I've ever stayed in.
