"Nice hotel, Excellent location" After reading some of the reviews on this site I was a little apprehensive about my visit. However, I was pleasantly suprised. The hotel does look somewhat dingy from the outside however the inside was fine. We arrived before the check in time and expected to be told our room was not ready however we were checked in promptly by polite reception staff. Our room was on the 7th floor and was a decent size and clean. The breakfast was buffet service and was everything was tasty and hot. The location of the hotel was excellent - just a 2 minute walk from Russell Sq tube station we felt we could not have have had a better location. I have no complaints about the hotel whatsoever it was not what i would call posh but i felt it was excellent value for money and more than adequate for what we required (after all how long do you spend in the hotel anyway!) I would recommend the hotel to anyone and would certainly stay there again.

"Very happy!" We booked here on a whim last weekend (Sat. Apr 7) on our last nite in London, as we had friends staying here. We were VERY pleasantly surprised--we just wanted a decent room (actually 2--triples) with a good location. We got much more. (Location is EXCELLENT--just a few steps from Russell Sq. tube stop, overlooks Russell Sq, which is lovely! Everything one could want is nearby.) It is not a fancy hotel, but perfect for the budget traveller who needs a little TLC. They went over and above to make our stay pleasant and EVERYONE was extremely helpful and polite. The concierge helped us make a very easy, stress-free, comfortable, and AFFORDABLE transfer with our 5 kids and all the baggage to Heathrow, and everything we asked for, they did. I will DEFINITELY stay here again--currently planning a "girls' week" with my daughter and hope to make this our home in London then. My only complaint--we were on the 1st and 2nd floors, and b/c we had the windows open (room was a bit stuffy, but I probably could have figured out the thermostat if I had taken the time to do so), we got a LOT of noise from the street. So next time I will request rooms higher up (I LOVED the rooms themselves--roomy by London standards and gorgeous view!) and keep windows closed!
