"De Petris Was "De Perfect" Place to Stay"
We could not have chosen a better place to stay for our week in Rome...location, location, location...close to everything (only a couple of blocks from Trevi Fountain)...on a quiet, quaint street...the staff was most helpful and friendly, especially Katia...the room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom had all the necessary modern conveniences...the breakfast was good every morning and included boiled eggs (for us carb counters!)...if we ever go to Rome again we hope to stay in Room 34 at this same hotel...we could look down from our balcony into the beautiful courtyard. The elevator was something you just had to experience! We would highly recommend this hotel.

"De Petris was perfectly all right"
We spent 4 night in Hotel De Petris in Rome. We arrived Friday at 11, and there was no problem with our reservation even though we've booked it through an unfamilliar (to us) internet company. we were told that our room will not be ready till 13, so we left our bags used the toillets (very clean), and were on out way for a short walk to familliar our selves with our soroundings. I know every one's already related to it, but the location is really wonderful! 5 minutes from the Metro on Berbarini piaza and even less on the other direction to fontana di trevi (magnificent!), and the rest is also within walking distanse. One afternoon we walked across the river to trastevere and back it was less than an hour of very slow comfortable walk. Our room at the hotel was more than suffucient. Not big but not too small, clean and warm. The only regret was that we couldn't open our window's shades because of constructions, but since we've spent so little waking hours in our room it really didn't matter. Breakfast was nice, and staff helpful. we didn't use the front dest much but with what we needed we were always helped. One appology to all who wrote reviews before me, I thought all exaggerated about the elevator, but was proven completeley worng. The Elvator is histericall! But on the other hand it ran and functioned and it gave us something to laugh about and remember for ever... As for tours and such - the Vatican was a complete torture. even if you're into art - you can't really see much throgh the crowds and the slow walk for hours and hours and the thousands of people around you made this experience really not worthed. Other wise Rome is absulutley beautiful and welcoming, we had a wonderful time, and if I can leave you with just one advise bring your most comfortable shoes, as you're going to hurt anyways...

"Great location"
This hotel is located quite close to the Trevi Fountain, which means that it is in a fantastic location for dining out, shopping and site seeing. It is about a 10 minute walk with luggage, to this hotel and it is all down hill. But unfortunately all up hill when you're leaving, making it a bit longer. The rooms are very nice, consisting of a double bed for couples, a television, safe and air conditioning that works very well even in the extreme heat. The rooms are quite spacious too. Our room was tidied every day and the reception staff are more than happy to help you. They speak english quite well. The breakfast is average, consisting of croissants, bread rolls, cheese etc. Be warned that you must get to breakfast early because the food is gone very quickly and only the basics get replenished. The juice was undrinkable for me. Whilst the rooms are lovely, the hotel is undergoing renovations and has the world's smallest elevator. Only one person with luggage can fit into it, so you can be standing there for 10 minutes at a time waiting for the lift as it picks up one person at a time from each level. Other than the elevator, i would recommend this hotel for its location, and lovely rooms.
