"Beautiful Hotel"
Just returned from Greek Island tour and stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end - 2 nights each weekend. It's a beautiful hotel, in a rather residential (apartments) area. We had a perfect view of the Parthenon from our balcony. Our room was beautiful. It was on the 3rd floor and looked like it had been recently remodeled. There was a funny smell in the hallway when you got off the elevator, but it might have been the new carpet in the hall. The room did not have the odor. The bathroom was spacious and had good water pressure. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the bar area in the lobby is a very comfortable gathering place. Just 3 blocks down (away from the Parthenon) and a block or two behind the hotel is a pedestrian area with many restaurants and shops. Continuing on from there towards the Parthenon is the Plaka, with more shops and restaurants. Walked it in the daytime and at night and felt very safe About 2 blocks down the street (to the right as you leave the hotel) is a shop called "Greek Arts" which sells handmade leather jackets and some very nice jewelry and scarves for very good prices (79 euros for the jacket!). There is also a nice grocery store across the street and a few blocks down - a good place to buy bottles of water for cheap. I was with a tour, so don't know how much the room rate actually was.

"Good hotel & location"
Hotel is literally at the base of the Acropolis. Rooms with a street view has a view of the Parthenon, rooms on the other side has pool views.
The rooms are a bit small, but comfortable enough for two. The bathroom was clean and big by European standards.
The breakfast (if you choose to buy it) at the hotel is good. There is a wide array of breads, as well as American and Greek favorites. There are lots of fresh fruit (which you can't find at many Greek hotels) and service is quick.
This hotel is located in a residential neighborhood, so there aren't many restaurants around. However, the nearest (Sigrou-Fix) is a 5 minutes walk away or head up the street (towards the Acropolis) and turn right and you're in the Plaka which has tons of places to eat. It's a nice 20 minute stroll to Syntagma Square too.
I stayed here for 4 nights (2 nights with a tour group, 2 nights without) and I would stay here again.

"Location plus"
We arrived at 4am, tired but excited to be in Athens. I had requested a room with a view of the Acropolis and when we opened the curtains to our balcony, there it was. What a sight1
This hotel is in an excellent location, very safe and within easy walking distance to the Acropolis, Plaka and Constitution Square. There is a complimentary bus, but it only goes every 2 hours. They cater to many tour groups, so there is always some people around.
Breakfast was of great variety and tasty.
Our room was large enough with a good sized bathroom. When I did any washing, it was dry very quickly on the balcony.
A safe in the room meant we did not have to worry about passports and carrying too much money in the streets.
The reception staff were not very friendly, but they were overworked. There is a supermarked very close by, in the same street, so you can get any provisions very cheaply.
We would definately stay here again.

"Very Good Hotel, Best in Athens for the Price"
My wife and I really liked this hotel and we found it after spending the 2 previous night in two other hotels in Athens, one deplorable (Thankfully can't remember the name) and one ok (Electra Palace). We have stayed in every level of hotel from the Ritz down to Holiday Inn's and travelled throughout the world, and in our experience, this is very good, albeit not great hotel. However, it only cost us $150/night in 2001 and we have just booked 2 more nights for E127. What is great about this hotel is the location--it is very near the Acropolis and the Plaka and yet it is free of any 'unsavory' people. There is a grocery store right down the street and some 'real' Greek restaurants nearby. You will not find Frette sheets or Bulgavi toletries or Marble baths--if you are looking for that you probably should go somewhere else. Additionally, I found the desk personnel to be very accomodating. When we called exasperated with the previous two hotels, they gave us a special rate (lower than what I saw on the Internet before the trip). We also asked them to have a taxi on hand for 5 am pick to go to the Airport and the taxi was there on time. Regarding the 'rude' service mention in other reviews, I would like to say that I have found the Greeks to very accomodating to those who show respect and patience and not very much accomodating to those that don't.

"Great Location and Value"
My wife and I spent two nights here prior to a week long cruise of the Greek Islands. This is a great location with in walking distance (albeit uphill) to the Acropolis and a number of the other major attractions and ruins as well as the Palaka. The breakfast which was included was quite extensive and more than met our needs. Our room was clean with a great view of the Acropolis. We found a wonderful taverna in the the Palaka called Thespus. We took a bus tour (arranged for by our hotel) the morning of our second day in town which gave us a great orientation to the city and an extensive tour of the major historic sites.

"great hotel for seeing the Acropolis!"
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Divani Palace Hotel in mid-September of 2005 and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Athens. It is very well-located in a quiet neighborhood at the bottom of the Acropolis (it’s about a 5 minute walk). The hotel is clean, the staff is helpful, and the rooms have nice little balconies. This is not a luxury hotel, but is the equivalent of a nice Marriot in the U.S. and serves its purpose of being a convenient, nice place to stay at while visiting Athens.
