"About 20 min from Tours, France"
A very elegant hotel not far from Tours- listed with four stars in the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. We were in a lovely, cozy 3rd floor room with exposed beams which in September was comfortable, but I can imagine in the summer it might get a bit warm even with the two air conditioners. We did have 3 windows though. Second floor rooms looked large with very traditional decor. The live soothing jazz Friday on the fountain terrace for cocktails was a pleasant surprise. The delicious food was haute cuisine with some pacific rim touches (like the mango tempura with my fish), but sometimes seemed to be a little overcomplicated. (Minor complaint) Would stay there again, especially for the central location in the Loire Valley.

"Beautiful Gem outside Tours"
What a Gem! We loved our room, the staff was wonderful, and dinner was fabulous! What more can I say...I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We highly recommend (and our standards are very high)!

"Stylish hotel with great food"
We stayed at this stylish small hotel in July for a week, and had an excellent time.
Travelling with our son we had rooms 04/05 which are two connected rooms, each with their own bathroom, overlooking the terrace gardens. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms decent, though not lavish. Very 'French'.
The hotel has a large swimming pool which catches the sun all day and provides a very agreable place to relax. Alongside the pool they put on an excellent buffet lunch.
Whilst breakfast is a bit disappointing, dinner was superb. We hadn't intended to eat at the hotel every night but the food was so good we couldn't resist it. The main courses are good (though on a hot day you often don't want to eat so much) but the starters were very good and the desserts 'historic'. Life is too short to stuff a strawberry but if someone else is doing the work it's a great treat. The white chocalate and strawberry sorbet lollipop was amazing.
The wines are not surprisingly predominantly local, and the sommelier guided us to some very good ones, most of which you won't come across back home.
Interestingly we were the only UK guests the whole week. Most guests were French, with a few overnighters from Japan and the US. Unlike some places (i.e Portugal which we've just returned from) you do feel genuinely abroad, which to us at least is a big plus.
We were woken two mornings running - first by a helicopter landing on the lawn and then by a hot air balloon being inflated. Annoying but the hot air balloon in particular looked fabulous and was worth getting up to see.
We visited Villandry, Azey-le-Rideaux and Chenonceau during the week. A-l-R is very pretty, Villandry has a marvellous garden and Chenonceau is spectacular. The last two really worth a visit.
Also worth a visit is the Chateau de Luynes (in the local village). This is a 'working' chateau used by the owners for hunting parties and makes an intersting change from the museum pieces that are the traditional Loire chateau.
Service was good and English is spoken though as in the rest of France an attempt to speak the language is appreciated - and results in better service.
For cyclists they have many bikes for guest use.
All in all a very pleasant small, comfortable and stylish place to stay.
The same group owns a number of similar hotels and we have stayed in their Chateau de Gilly in Burgundy, and we'd really recommend a stay their if you are in the area.
