"Great hotel"
I'm just back from a three night stay at the Donima Inn Riga and found my whole experience of the hotel to be great. The room was very modern, bigger than many twins I've stayed in at other hotels and the bathroom was new and spacious. I found the staff to be very courteous and helpful regardless of the time of day.
The location was ideal as well - a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the old town which took us through a couple of parks and along the side of the canal. There's also a coffee shop and supermarket next door which proved handy.

"brilliant hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay in this elegant hotel. Our room was very large, extremely clean and had huge bath. It was very quiet at night and the breakfast the following morning had the widest range of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were helpful and I think that this hotel was excellent value for money |

"Updated and classy"
Just got back from a 3 night stay and the hotel exceeded our expectations. Room was big and bath huge - ask for room with a bath. The service was about the best we have experienced - friendly, helpful, smiles, attentive. There is a sauna but we didn't use it. No sign of stag/hen party clients if that would bother you!! Breakfast much better than we thought it may be - self-serve but regularly freshened/replenished, and they even fry/boil eggs for you to your specific order. They DO whisk your plates etc away as soon as they think you have finished - still that gives them more washing up to do!! It seems to be the done thing in Riga. A nice touch on Valentines day was to give everyone a heart- shaped soap and a free bubbly drink if you ate at night. A la carte menu is good without being terrific. Value for money all round for the hotel was first rate.
Others see the 15 min walk to town centre as a drawback - we liked the walk!! Anyway 30 pence (30 cents) on trolley bus outside hotel gets you there.

"Excellent clean hotel"
My wife and i arrived at the dominia inn for a 2 night stay, we were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived, pleasant staff at reception and a swift check in.
The room was a superior double and it was for the price the nicest cleanest hotel room i have ever been in. The bathroom was wonderful a huge deep bath, great water pressure and underfloor heating. The bedroom was large and spotless with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel (the only thing i would have liked would be an in room kettle).
The bar and reaturant were very nice and service was anticipatory and pleasant.
Great hotel. Great price, and i found it here on tripadvisor, Thank You!

"excellent hotel superb value"
Just got back from the Domina Inn Riga.
Excellent hotel based just north of the Old town of Riga.
Rooms were a bit smaller than anticipated but very clean and brighty decorated and furnished.
We had a shower room with no bath but again very clean, Towels were good quality and the shower was very big and had excellent pressure.
Only ate in the restaurant for breakfast but this was a typical selection of hot and cold foods, juices, tea, coffee, breads and cakes all very good quality.
Hotel staff were very helpful and charming.
The hotel bar was a great meeting place before going out (15 on our trip) happyhour 6.00 - 8.00 also helped.the bar staff were also drop dead georgeous.
I would recommend the hotel to anyone singles, couples, families or large groups.
We paid £32.00 per person per night for twin rooms including breakfast.
I don't think you will get a better hotel in Riga for the money.

"Great deal, great hotel!"
Location - it's about a 10 minute walk from the Old Town, situated in a nice safe area with an incredibly cheap, well stocked supermarket about 4 doors along the road. Some good places to eat nearby, and the hotel restaurant is highly recommended for dinner! If you don't fancy the walk into the Old Town, buses run every few minutes from right outside the door - dirt cheap too! Buy the ticket on board - 20 centimes per journey (approx 20p) Hotel is in a beautiful old building, completely renovated, everything looks brand new, very modern design.
Rooms - Our standard room was of adequate size and faced the inner courtyard, some rooms face the road. Everything very clean.
Room Facilities - very smart tv with some English channels, lovely bathroom, new towels, excellent shower, hairdryer, comfy bed. Central heating and air conditioning. Free safe in the wardrobe! Mini bar prices are very reasonable, but don't bother - just get stocked up in the supermarket. 45p for a big bottle of beer and crisps and choccie are far cheaper than England too. The only thing we missed in the room was a kettle, but we'll take one with us next time!
Breakfast - Very good choice of cereals and pastries, lovely scrambled egg. Staff very attentive. More than adequate, lovely dining room overlooking the street.
Prices - we paid £182 for 3 nights bed and breakfast -we felt this was a very good deal for this standard of accommodation.
Taxis - We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel (about 20 minute journey) and it cost 7 lats. Returning to the airport, taxis are available from outside the hotel, but haggle the price as it shouldn't be more than 8 lats at most. If you're feeling brave, I believe you can catch the no.22 bus from the airport, but I'm not sure where it drops you off in Riga.
Riga itself is a beautiful city, not yet spoiled by commercialism. We came across few English people during our stay but managed to make ourselves understood most of the time! The streets were relatively quiet and the pace of life is relaxed, for a city. We found we preferred Riga to Prague and everything is so very, very cheap. If I lived in Riga, I'd be permanently drunk and very fat! Take the train to the Baltic Coast. Trains run frequently from Central Station (walkable) to Majori (Jurmala) and it's a 40 minute journey for 1 lat return (approx £1) Trains are old, but always on time and the scenery you pass through is the real Latvia... some very dilapidated buildings and blocks of flats, but worth seeing. At Majori, the beach is 30km long and really sandy. Worth a visit even in November!
Have a cocktail on the 26th floor of the Reval Hotel Latvija (walking distance from Domina Inn, along Elizabeth Street). Gorgeous views of the whole city! Loved Riga, hope you do too, and this hotel was a great base from which to enjoy it all!
