"Very Good Hotel"
Agree with previous reviewers. Hotel is very nice. A little out of the way but only about 5-10 minutes walk to the Central T Sta (red line) and 1 block to the #1 bus. Rooms are nice. Best points are the in-room digital safe and free internet access. The wi-fi is rather weak but the wired T1 line is super fast. There's a big supermarket on the second floor which is very handy. Sidney's restaurant is highly reputed but I was not impressed. Fancy presentation of tiny portions at high prices. Service was, at best, indifferent. Overall the hotel is fine, however and is recommended.

"My favorite hotel in the world!"
I absolutely love the Hotel@MIT! I've been staying there since it first opened in 2000, and I stay there every time I visit Boston/Cambridge (a few times a year). Of course, I should tell you that I'm biased, because MIT is my alma mater. But nevertheless, when comparing the Hotel@MIT to other hotels around the country where I've stayed, the Hotel@MIT remains at the top of the list! The service is superb, especially from one of the managers, Shauna (I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly) and one of the Concierges, Ken. Both of them have gone above and beyond the call of duty when I've had questions, requests, or called them from across the country with a special issues. I love to stay in one particular room overlooking the Roof Garden, and Shauna made sure to book me in there. I called the Concierge, Ken, from across the country, looking for someplace to purchase and deliver a wine basket for one of my old MIT professors, and Ken gladly gave me the information of a wine store in Harvard Square. Ken even offered to get the basket for me, but I didn't want to put him through all that trouble. Everyone else at the Hotel@MIT -- from the doormen to the head housekeeper to the front desk personnel -- are always extremely nice and welcoming. They even remember me when I come back! What the nice surprise! The Room Service is the best, and I always feel like I'm "home" at this hotel. One of my favorite parts of the hotel is the Roof Garden -- I love to look out the window in the morning sun and see the lovely flowers and trees. I can't give enough raves about this hotel. I'm looking forward to my next stay there!
