"Superb Service in a 1st Class Hotel"
Stayed for 4 nights in the wonderful Hotel Eden with my wife and my parents. For those who have remarked in previous reviews about the aloof, elitest and snobbish attitude of the staff, I can only suggest that perhaps you received service that reflected your own personalities. I simply can't speak highly enough about the welcome that we received upon arrival and this theme continued throughout our stay. Warm, friendly, accommodating, professional, efficient.... I could go on forever! Also take into consideration that we were staying there on a special "Starwood STARHOT" rate reserved for Starwood staff members (my wife) and so we paid considerably less. This had no bearing whatsoever on the treatment that we received from the staff. Old world charm and ceremony abounds and one really feels that they are living in the luxuriant lap of some bygone era. Now, to say that The Eden is in the norm expensive is an understatement of the highest order; usually a room will set you back in the vicinity of 700 Euro per night but remember that this is an hotel that markets itself toward the rich and famous, politicians and high-end executive types. That said, 8 Euro for a Snickers from the minibar is simply taking the mickey... A continental breakfast for 1 with coffee, 4 pastries and juice was 30 Euro plus 6.50 for room service delivery. Full English breakfast was 50 Euro plus delivery per person A mini can of Coke from the minibar was 8 Euro.... Suffice it to say that by any standard these are outrageous prices but again, remember that usually they are dealing with customers for whom the price is not a factor. In terms of the accommodation, elegant and simple period decor is in evidence everywhere and while the run of the mill rooms are not jaw droppingly gorgeous, they are spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are large with marble floors and features, and enough goodies to open your own beauty parlour. Housekeeping come in during the evening to turn down the bed, leave a little chocolate treat alongside the following days' weather forecast, fix up the room and bathroom, lay out your slippers and jim-jams and generally make you feel special. To summarise, Hotel Eden is a fabulous example of how an hotel should be run but at the price is only available to the privileged few who can afford it. One could certainly spend less elsewhere and get more for the money but Eden is an experience that I would gladly relive at the drop of a hat.

"Outstandng luxury hotel"
The Eden is a fine hotel in a great location. We had contact with much of the staff (doorman, porter, reception, concierge, restaurant staff) and they were all pleasant, professional, and extremely helpful. We had dinner at their rooftop restaurant (La Terrazza) and found it to be a perfect place for a romantic evening. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a great view. We spent four lovely nights here and would certainly return. One caution--it is expensive.

"Wonderful Hotel - Service and Product"
We stayed there for 2 nights (14 & 15 April) and all the service staff that we came into contact from check in to check out were very profesional and helpful. The location is perfect if you are tourist as most sightseeing location are within walking distance. We walk to all the historical sight, except the Vatican. The bedroom and bathroom size and cleanliness are very good. After you close the double glaze windows, you don't hear any street noise. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom amenities are of 5 star standard (Penhaligons). The marble bathroom is quite big but the bathtub size is a bit smaller than regular bathtub. The menu prices are quite on the expensive side. I would definately recommend this hotel and come back again.

"Outstanding Starwoods property!"
During a recent trip to Italy, our first stop was the Hotel Eden for four nights. Cashed in "molto" Starwoods points for one of their eight Studio rooms and well worth it. Spacious and airy with windows overlooking the surprisingly quiet street in front of the hotel, nicely furnished, and with a beautiful, well-appointed marble bath. We are neither movie stars nor royalty (far from it!) but were treated with the utmost courtesy and hospitality by all the staff. I don't understand some of the other reviews; this was five-star service at its best. Excellent, quiet location, several blocks from the Spanish Steps, which we preferred to being in the middle of the frantic shoppers and other hub-bub in the Spanish Steps area. And, a great base for sight-seeing. The rooftop is actually three areas - the Michelin starred La Terrazza restaurant, the lounge/bar, and the outdoor Il Giardino dell'Eden lounge/restaurant, which we were told was recently glass enclosed for an impressive atrium effect, with large vertical sliding glass windows and awnings to block the overhead sun. We were so captivated by the stunning views over Rome that we became nightly regulars. My husband was able to savor his evening cigar during cocktails, and we enjoyed light dinners from the IL Giardino dell'Eden menu (same kitchen as La Terrazza and OUTSTANDING food), listening to live piano music from the adjacent bar. Watching the sunset, with the balmy evening air wafting in, and watching the lights come on in the city below was a most pleasant way to end a full day of sight-seeing. Ladies, the Concierge booked a hair appt. for me at the Femine Sistina salon, several blocks from the hotel, where Federico gave me one of the best cuts, coloring, and blow-outs I've ever had. I would HIGHLY recommend. Prices typical of any better New York salon. Try Ristorante Villa Tor Carbone "Sora Rosa" for lunch, located at Via Tor carbone, 74. This very local restaurant (we seemed to be surrounded by mostly Italian business people) specializes in fresh seafood, and the waiter treated us to complimentary biscuits and dessert wines after a very reasonably priced and delicious lunch. Back to Hotel Eden, yes, the restaurant is expensive, room service (breakfast) is expensive, but our stay was so very enjoyable in every aspect that we would stay here again in a heartbeat, and in fact can't wait to return. Happy travels!

"I love this place"
this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel and we love it. it's a small boutique hotel with an excellent staff, especially the concierge. we had a room with a marbled foyer, marble bath and nice sized bedroom (room 218). it overlooked the street but was not noisy. our room was immaculate, the bed lines are top notch as are the towels and robes. the view from the roof top restaurant/bar is fabulous at all times of the day and night. the restaurant is okay but I wouldn't eat there. it's very expensive and the food is mediocre. just go up for drinks.
