"Basic Hotel in Paris, Opera District"
Stayed at the Eden Hotel, September 2004. Hotel is basic, clean, and staff friendly. Breakfast is sufficient - fruit salad, juice, rolls, croissants and coffee or tea. Convenient for metro.

"Très bien!!!"
We stayed here in the first week of February 2005 and were pleasantly surprised, the hotel is very clean and the staff super friendly (we met this funnyguy receptionist who managed to forced a smile out of a couple of tired tourists just off a 12 hour gruelling train ride; that in itself is a tremendous feat!) The breakfast is only served from 7am to 930am and is pretty basic, so we traded that for more sleep instead. The location can't be beat, it's near to a lot of metro (lines 7 and 9 are a stonethrow away) and RER lines (A and E, one takes you to Gare du Nord, the other takes you to Disneyland). If you're travelling with a shopaholic like I was, you'd be glad to know that the area is a mere 10 minutes walk from Galerie Lafayette and Printemps and all sorts of designer boutiques. Walk the other way and you come to Moulin Rouge. My personal favourite was the Church of the Holy Trinity in the middle of it all... really imposing architecture, and great to watch people going about their paces around it... overall the area has something for everyone! But be warned, like almost everything else in France, the hotel's really small! I mean, as soon as we saw the elevator we were like, "we can't fit in there!" But we did, 2 girls with 2 bags... as long as you're not claustrophobic you can do it too! :P Anyway, we had a pleasant stay in Paris and I hope you do too~ :) Bon voyage!
