"Good Madrid Hotel"
Good value Madrid Hotel. Clean, conveniently located for all the major sightseeing, helpful staff, mercifully quiet (not always the case in Madrid). Free WI-FI a bonus.

"Love it."
As a single female travelling alone, I look for clean, safe, reasonable priced and convient place to stay and this hotel fulfilled it all for me. I found the staff to be fairly helpful and spoke above average English and it was close to all the tourist attractions that I planned to see - Prado museum, Plaza Mayor, shopping, etc....
The room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom is larger than most hotels I have stayed in and also very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel for all types of travellers and I definitely return back to the hotel.

"Well located and clean hotel in Madrid"
Stayed here in a triple room in August 2006. The hotel was perfectly located. We could walk or subway everywhere we wanted to be. It was just over a 5 minute walk to the museums and Sol.
The room was a little crammed for three people but worked just fine for us. And the room and bathroom were very updated and nice and clean.
The hotel staff was good. They helped us make reservations for flamenco and gave us directions and advice on other sights which was great. But you definitely had to pull it out of them to ge tthem to help you, they were not immediately offering. But then again this is not the Ritz and they are front desk and not concierge staff so what can you expect?
The woman that runs the breakfast room was very nice.

"Great choice in the old city area"
Great choice in the old city. Walked everywhere - museums, Plaza Mayor, Plaza Espana, etc. There are wonderful tapas bars off the Plaza Santa Ana - wander in and out and enjoy. Found hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Ask for a quiet room in the back off the street. Try Casa Patas for dinner and flamenco which is also within walking distance.
Really enjoyed Madrid!!

"Great service, great location, great prices"
I stayed in Hotel El Prado for 7 nights with some friends. I made the reservation in the Hotel website, and I only had seen some website fotos, I had no recommendations, so I has a little unsure about the hotel.
But everything went perfect!!! The rooms were clean (althought I spoted some hairs in the floor), and the location is spetacular: just next the great museums, El Retiro park, plaza Mayor, plaza Puertas del Sol, etc, etc.
We had everything at hand, at walking distance. Maybe the location is too good: it is next to plaza sant'ana, that gets crowded in the weekends. Some friends that stayed with me complained about the noise, in the floor below. But the street noise didn't bother me much, I think it depends on the person. The rooms have double glasses, so they care to prevent about the street noise.
Also the price was excellent: for 50eur/night for double room (it was a summer promotion) we had:
- TV with satellite channels
- mini-bar
- breakfast buffet
- locker in the room
- free internet in the lobby
- some amenities in the room's corridor: fresh apples, pens, candies, etc
Everything seems clean and new. The staff is competent, efficient and very friendly and attencious. Every one had a smile, including the cleaning ladies, and attended to all your requests. No troubles either with checkin or checkout.
I recommend this hotel to my friends, and whenever I return to Madrid, I will probably will stay in El Prado.
