"really enjoyed our stay here"
Just back from a two night weekend break in the emperador hotel. It was a girlie weekend and I must say the hotel lived up to our standards. Its in a good location walking distance really to the puerto del sol and most of the nightlife. The rooftop pool was a big plus with this hotel as the fri we arrived was extremely hot and it was really nice to just lie by the pool and chill out for a couple of hours, however i did find drinks quite expensive here.
My only regret was that i did not book another night in this city we had such a great time and hope to go back soon.
For any girls looking to do shopping here its fantastic found the best bag shops at unbelievable prices and for nightlife we went to Dubliners which wasnt your typical irish pub plenty of other nationalities drank here also. We just found it had a great atmosphere here.
The hotel was comfortable, clean had a lovely bathroom and i would definately return to this hotel.

"Great Location Great Hotel"
I just returned from 17 days in Spain and our first stop was Madrid. There are 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 6). We had a suite over looking Gran Via. Room was clean and large. The rooftop pool was great for the children when they needed a break. You are walking distance to many of the beautiful attractions Madrid offers and across the street from one of the stops on the Double Decker bus tour. Spend the extra $ to be part of Club Emperador, this includes breakfast and afternoon cocktails. Yes it is expensive but worth the money.

"Great hotel, fab location!"
Our trip was somewhat overshadowed by an extremely difficult journey and lost baggage, but I will try not to let that affect my review of the hotel!!
We were a group of 7 girls and stayed at the Emperador this weekend on a hen party (a sophisticated, relaxing one!). We had two twin rooms and a triple.
Our 3rd floor rooms were very varied - one large with a lovely view (321), one smaller also with a good view of the gran via (327), and one small with a view of the opposite wall (320) but all rooms were clean, tastefully decorated and even the small room was a comfortable size. Plenty of wardrobe space and general storage, a tv, a radio/cd player, good size bathroom (with good selection of toiletries). The shower is okay. Good water pressure and temperature, but quite a small shower head with thin water jets, which was a bit disappointing.
Housekeeping was very good.
The air conditioning was excellent. Very efficient - meaning we didn't need to leave it whilst we were out (which is a pet hate of mine - excess energy consumption and all that!)
We paid a supplement for the Club Emperador rooms, which got us more spacious rooms (although we didn't see the other rooms) and a seperate lounge/breakfast room. There was a larger selection of breakfast foods (which was excellent in both the standard dining room and the club room). The lounge also provided free drinks during certain hours (alcoholic and soft drinks) and although not a wide selection, was great for the group congregating before going out for dinner.
The rooftop pool area is lovely. Great views. The pool is a good size so you can have a proper swim, but be warned, it's very chilly!!! It's breezy up there, but for us that provided a welcome cooling from the hot sun! There are plenty of loungers and towels are provided up there. It was busy on the weekend but much quieter on the Monday. The pool bar is also good and does lounger service at certain times. It's quite pricey, but that's to be expected in a hotel (6 euros for soft drinks).
There's a good changing area, which is handy if you want to relax after checkout and shower/change.
The pool itself is open to the public at some times.
There are 3 lifts...small but relatively quick. Two are facing the main lobby, a 3rd is just round the side to the left, which is less used and arrives much faster! This doesn't go up to the pool though.
The staff were attentive and helpful. They helped us a lot by making calls for us in Spanish, to check our lost luggage. Their English was also very good. The concierges were very helpful. We did encounter quite a few problems at check-out, which delayed us by an hour! We were charged different rates from those we'd booked at, had extra breakfasts charged but the person who did the booking had printed all our info out so we were ok eventually! I'd just advise checking your printed invoice carefully before paying.
Overall, a very nice hotel and I'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to people. If you hunt around on the internet for good rates, it's pretty reasonably priced too.

"Great Hotel"
In a great location on the Grand Via this hotel offers a standard of luxury greater than its 4 stars might imply.
Look around for a deal when booking, as its possible to get breakfast included in the rates. The executive upgrade is worth paying extra for - providing access to a comfortable and complimentary lounge/ bar.
If staying in a room overlooking the street, insist on one with sound-proofing as the street is very noisy all night long. Did not sleep the first night due to the noise, but promptly changed to a higher floor the next morning
The hotel provides old-school, if a little dated, glamour - brass rails and chandillers - and the rooms are huge. Bathrooms are full-on marble with flufy bathrobes.
I would be more likely to book this for my parents rather than for myself going forward.

"Best Hotel Ever!"
I was a little worried because of the low cost but as it turned out the Emperador Htoel us a little gem! My wife and teenage daughter were greeted very warmly and found the service to be just wonderful! We were there for two nights and really loved the size of the rooms (I guess the top floor rooms are bigger). Location is perfect too, just a short walk to everything fun! The staff was just terrific and made us feel like were were staying at a good friends home. It is the perfect hotel for a couple traveling with a teenage daughter.

"Good Hotel, Good Location"
This is a good hotel in a very good location. For those who want to explore Madrid without spending a fortune this is a good option. The pool is particularly appealing to those travelling with kids and is nicely situated on the hotel roof. The Club Floor was pleasant, thought the coffee was.
Overall impression of the Service was quite favorable & for a largish hotel I think they've done quite a good job.

"Great hotel"
Stayed in this hotel in January for a shopping weekend. Arrived Saturday evening, Madrid centre closed Sunday but a shopping mall on the outskirts of town open.
Booked Club Emperada rooms after seeing notices. Room fine, bed a bit hard. Staff all pleasant and very helpful. Drinks in the bar a bit pricey, but we did get lots of nibbles with the drinks. Found a nice bar around the corner where drinks half the price.
Pool closed during winter and it was very cold but enjoyed weekend all the same.
