Europa Gatwick Hotel is 10 minutes drive from Gatwick International Airport, via the nearby M23 motorway, with the junction 10A giving immediate access. The hotel is located away from the airport flight path and ancient forest and farmland are within walking distance.

Beautifully designed, the Europa Gatwick Hotel is a unique low rise, attractive building in hacienda style centred around a garden and a water feature with carp and goldfish. The exposed timber ceilings mix stylishly with terrazzo and marble features in the public areas, whilst the 211 bedrooms include double and twin rooms, as well as suites and feature rooms. The on site restaurant is the Mediterranean situated on a mezzanine floor above the lobby, and the Rafters Bar can be found in the main lounge.

"Nice and Causy"
have stayed in Mercure for a couple of days in December 2004, the hotel is nice and causy. Highly accessible, near the underground station and a short walking distance from bus station. From CDG airport you can take the shuttle bus and it will drop you really nearby the hotel at Montparnasse. The room view was not the best but the room itself and room service was great. I do recommend this hotel.

"A very pleasant stay at this charming hotel"
As you must know by now a good hotel needs 3 basic things to be worthwhile: location, good service and cleanliness. This hotel has all three. The location is very comfortable since the hotel is located in a short street with metro stations at both ends - each one a different line and both of them very usefull. If you walk a bit further you even have a third line and in another direction you quickly arrive at the Gare Montparnasse where you have plenty of bus lines (and somewhere in betweeb is the Air France bus stop connecting you to CDG airport). Although the Rue de la Gaite is filled here and there with sex-shops, they are not as disturbing or intimidating as you might think, not to mention that they tend to blend nicely with all the other shops and small restaurants arround them. The service in this establishment is very good. We arrived at night and asked for a non-smoking room and the reception personel advised us to try a smoking room which is larger with a promise that odors are effectively controlled, which was very true. The room was larger and had an extra bed and an even better quality: the WC was in a seperate space from the bathroom and both were able to be shut behind an extra door. Not only were the staff friendly but after one night of sufferring from an extremely hard bed (quite rare to have hard beds in hotels, Paris in particular) we were offered a room next door and it was better. The general feeling is that you are more than welcome to make inquiries and requests and the staff will do their best to help and comply. Third, the hotel is very clean. True, if you look hard enough you will notice the little chips in the wood here and there and an occasional tad loose wallpaper but you realy have to try hard and it is easy to overlook these mild signs of a hotel being used a lot. The room was cleaned daily and the hotel was very clean and well maintained in all of it's parts. Buffet breakfast was small but realy enough, consisting of some cheese, eggs, bacon, sausages, many types of bread, jams, yoghurts, freshly squeezed orange juice and the usual variaty of warm drinks (tea, coffe and chocolat). The bottom line is that if you get a good price on this hotel it is more than recommended and I wish to thank the staff for making our week in Paris a very pleasant one in regards to accomondations.
