"Great Hotel"
Just come back from Riga and a lovely stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff were quick to respond to my initial email to book a taxi from the airport and right from the minute we arrived were friendly and helpful. Loved the bed turndown and chocolate at night too.
The breakfast was good and everywhere very clean.
This is a renovated hotel and the decor was amazing from beautiful plaster ceilings to wooden floors. We stayed in a standard room which was large with a lovely bathroom with bath. The ceilings are high and molded and everything was in keeping with the history of the building.
Would definately recommend this for a special stay.

"Benjamin's Restaurant!"
The bar and restaurant in this hotel are fantastic! The wood panelled bar with stained glass windows merits a trip in itself. The food is delicious and the service first class.

"One of the nicest hotels we've ever been to!"
The Europa Royal in Riga was an absolute pleasure to stay in. The rooms were beautifully decorated, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and the location was very central (5 minute walk to the Old Town).
The building is a converted mansion (that I believe was just recently converted to a hotel) so the rooms have very high ceilings, the entrance is very grand, and the rooms are all freshly decorated.
The hotel's casino was very nice as well with many different card games to play. The night we visited the casino there was a staff party on so we got to eat an incredible three course meal, drink cocktails, and smoke fine cigars for FREE, all night long! There was also a live four piece string quartet with female vocalist that beautifully accompanied the luxurious evening. I'm not sure if all of the free food was there for the staff party or if it is there every weekend night. It is definitely worth checking out at least because we had a wonderful time drinking and socialising with the Latvian staff members.
All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay in during our trip to Latvia. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone traveling to Riga.
