Former Palladian villa in the heart of Rome...

Originally built at the end of he 19th Century, Eurostars International Palacewas totally renovated and refurbished between 2002-03, and offers a mixture of Renaissance styles combined with modern standards and hospitality. On entering the discreet frontage of the hotel, guests find themselves in a hallway surrounded by marble pillars and high ceilings decorated in golden-foil stucco work reminiscent of a Palladian Villa.Also In the hallway, paintings depicting ancient Rome and a classical colonnade are illuminated by hidden spotlights and by chandeliers.

This initial elegance is repeated in the spacious and welcoming rooms, which are furnished with antique furniture, elegant fabrics and, of course, offer modern facilities.

LOCATION

Eurostars International Palace is excellently located on the Via Nazionale, right in the heart of Italy's Eternal City.Via Nazionale is lined with clothes shops, and is also a good place to buy bags and leather goods. An English-language bookshop is located 100 meters from the hotel.The hotel is close to clothing stores, and metro and train stations; the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps are less than 1 km away.

* Il Pommodoro:
The restaurant resembles a traditional Italian café, with murals of Roman sites on the walls. The coffee bar also serves a selection of beers, wines, and spirits. There are eight tables inside and four outside, where guests can enjoy lunch and dinner with a trattoria-style menu of pizzas, pasta, and fish dishes.

* The hotel has 112 air-conditioned guestrooms with cherry-wood furniture. Inside the closets, under wooden covers, are twin electric hotplates and a small, stainless-steel hand basin. "Perfect for our purposes"
I took my Mum to Rome for her 60th birthday and since neither of us had been there before it was tricky to know where to stay. The International Palace turned out to be perfect- Rome is a small city anyway but everything is walkable from here. On our second day we left half an hour to walk to the Colosseum and were twenty minute early. When they say 500m to something they mean it. The hotel is far from fancy but it has everything you need and the staff are friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast which was ok but not great (very weird juice and coffee machines which are a bit of a travesty in a country which has some of the best coffee in the world!). For an affordable (through Expedia) central base it is perfect. Lovely deep baths to ease those exhausted over walked bodies too. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Another tip- we saw the Roman Forum & Colosseum and the Vatican with Angel Tours and they were excellent.

"Enjoyed our stay"
We stayed three nights at the International Palace in 3/07. We booked the room through Gate 1 Travel, and were quite pleased with all three hotels we booked through them during our holiday in Italy. This hotel is very conveniently located. We arrived in Rome by train, transferred to the subway within the train station, got off at the Repubblica stop, and easily walked the rest of the way to the hotel. Turn right coming out of the subway, then just head straight down Via Nazionale and look to the left after a few blocks. There isn't a large sign; you have to read the word "Eurostar" on the glass doors. It helped that I recognized the building from photos posted here. The room was lovely; tapestry drapes, damask fabric on the walls, marble-tiled bathroom. It was small, but it was on par with other rooms I've had in Rome and throughout Europe. The room was clean, and it was nice to have a tub in the bathroom instead of just a shower. Another plus - the hotel lift was spacious enough to accommodate several people at once. Unfortunately, the hotel's restaurant was closed for construction during our stay, but they had made arrangements for guests to have breakfast at a small cafe across the street. It was slightly inconvenient to have to cross over there, but the food and service was excellent and I thought it was a very good solution to the temporary problem. We also appreciated the free internet! Just ask at the concierge desk and they will sign you up. Overall, we had an excellent experience here and would highly recommend this hotel.

"Great Hotel"
Great Hotel. Good location - an easy walk to the centre. Very clean and well equipped - everything from free toothbrushes to a shoe shine kit. Safe in room. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would definately stay there again. Only problem when we visited was that the restaurant was closed for refurbishment, so had to have breakfast at cafe across the road. But, excellent breakfast - everything you could want to eat.
