"loved it!"
Contrary to the other review i saw on the internet, i have to say, i really enjoyed my stay at the Hesperia Sablon last weekend. The hotel is quite modern and has an attractive interior. They also seemed to take good care of the bedlinen and tidiness of the room..I really do recommend this hotel to other people.

"A pleasant stay"
My wife and I recently stayed at the Hesperia Sablon for a three night weekend break and I have to say we had a very pleasant stay. We were a little apprehensive at first as the taxi took us to the hotel. We went down this narrow cobbled side street where the hotel was situated at the bottom which at first looked like a cul-de -sac and looked a little intimidating at first. As it turned out it wasn't too bad. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor at the rear of the hotel which was quite spacious with large comfortable bed with clean bed linen. Plenty of storage space, a very useful in-room safe (always a big plus in my book). The bathroom was very nice with a good shower and plenty of hot water and a full range of toiletries were supplied as were numerous towels. Our room also had air conditioning, a mini bar and T.V. except there wasn't many English channels. The only down side to our room was the view - it didn't have one. Our room looked out to the back of what looked like derelict buildings which were quite frankly a bit of an eyesore. In fact if you had a room at the front the view is not a lot better. The breakfast room was nicely decorated and breakfast itself was the usual european affair of scrambled eggs,bacon and beans etc plus a selection of cold meats, cheeses and breads which were plentiful and tasty. The hotel also boasts a small fitness room and sauna in the basement. A bar and lounge but beware - and here comes my second grumble, the drinks prices are a joke! 5 euro's for one small can of beer. The hotel also had free internet access. The hotel is located just a short walk from the Grand place with it's restaurants, gift shops and of course those famous chocolate shops. As my wife and like a gamble, we joined the Brussels Grand casino which is just a stones throw from the hotel (it only opened last December). We had two very nice meals here. We booked our trip through the Eurostar website and got a very good deal. We had never been on the Eurostar train so we thought we would give it a try instead of flying and I have to say we were quite impressed. If we return to Brussels it is possible we might stay at this hotel again, however, walking around the local area we did come across a few better located hotels.
