"Wonderful Small Hotel"
Stayed here in October of 2003. I very much enjoyed my stay and would return. The desk staff was very friendly, and spoke some English. There are only 25 rooms, all of which have a side view to the beach and a private balcony. I was on the top floor and had a nice view. Showers have great water pressure and plenty of hot water. It is a business hotel, so don't expect a lot of tourists, though they have a beach service and will provide you with free chaises, towels and umbrellas, as well as security on the beach, just show your room key card. Best of all, I was allowed to check out late ( 4pm) on the day fo my departure for my overnight flight back to the US.

"Very nice hotel and great staff!"
Stayed for 5 nights in the beginning of February. Very pleased with the staff and the cleanliness. Breakfast is fairly decent. Staff is very helpful even if they don't speak English all of them. From doormen to the cleaning lady are all with a smile. A great plus is the 24h room service. The location is great too! Definitely our choice for next year!

"Very pleased"
While I read many reviews of the Everest Rio all I was hoping for was a comfortable bed and a hot shower since I was on a business trip with not much time for sunning at the beach. I was very pleased with the staff - most of whom could understand English. My room view had much to be desired but the shower was wonderful - lots of hot water and water pressure was great! The breakfasts were fine and the bar was open late at night where we could sit by the pool (on the rooftop) watch the ocean and hear the music from the streets. The closest we got to the rolling stones concert was seeing the goodyear blimp over the hotel! All in all Rio is a beautiful place to visit and the hotel was just fine. We did have "staff" come to our door two separate times and could not speak English - so I did not let them in - call the front desk first and ask before you let someone in that you did not call for.
