Excelsior Hotel is a beautiful luxurious four-star landmark in New York City's Upper West Side. The Excelsior hotel is within walking distance of many cultural and recreational venues, including the Hayden Planetarium, the Beacon theatre and Lincoln center. The metropolitan museum of art is just a short walk across central park.

As gracious as its west side residential neighborhood, Excelsior welcomes its guests with a wood paneled lobby graced with beams, chandeliers, oil paintings, fresh cut flowers, and sitting areas with gilt trimmed french style sofas and arm chairs. At the Excelsior you will find luxury and elegance throughout the hotel and in your room.

Excelsior Hotel is located in a fashionable neighborhood between Central Park and Columbus Avenue where you can overlook many of the West Side's attractions from Central Park, American Museum of Natural History and the Rose Center for Earth and Space.

"Excellent Hotel, Great service!!!!!!!!"
Well worth spending the extra money on this hotel! Great service, clean, great location near Museum of Natural History!!!!!......A++ recommended. Bathrooms are beautiful, water pressure in shower is a BIT under what it should be but that is the way NYC is usually. Right near the B and D subway stops not even a block away....some spots in the city call for walking quite a way to get to a subway stop! NOT this one! Go for this you wont regret it.

"Excellent Hotel"
I stayed here with a friend for 5 nights. I can't recommend it highly enough. The location is superb, just a couple of mins walk from Central Park, and Nat History Museum. Also only a couple of mins from the Subway. The room was lovely, 2 really comfy double beds, nice decor, heating / air con was excellent. lots of cupboard / drawer space. Bathroom was of a good size, and had loads of fluffy white towels. We had a room on 15th floor at rear of hotel, overlooking the Upper West Side. Thr room was exceptionally clean. The staff were all pleasant and more than helpful, can't understand the previous reviews. Check in and check out was quick and easy. Would definately stay here again.

I have just returned from a one night stay at the Hotel Excelsior, and I believe that you have a hidden gem. My friend and I were treated so nicely by your staff, and our room was beautiful. When we had a problem with our air conditioning, we called down. By the time we returned from dinner, the air was fine. The room was large, the amenities were super-even the razor and mini shaving cream , not to mention the toothbrush- and the shower pressure was perfect. The location is great for museum affcionados or for people with small children who need access to the park. Also , all the doormen lining the street make you feel safe no matter what time of night you arrive.
