"a great location"
Excelsior Palace Terme Hotel has a great location, think its the only hotel in Acriele, which is a lovely town lacking tourists. Walking around at midnight after dinner going to ice cream shops without fear of being mugged is lovely.
The pool and back of the hotel are fairly seedy.

"Huge, deep swimming pool"
Excelsior Palace Terme Hotel has a huge, deep swimming pool, with excellent sunbeds. The position of the pool means you get the sun all day.
Our room was on the back of the hotel, facing the pool, which was a wonderful view, but the live entertainment at night took place around the pool and could be very loud.

"Very Comfortable Hotel"
Had a wonderful stay here for 6 days. The staff, especially a young desk clerk named Marco, were great. Had what I thought could have been a disaster trying to communicate the problem to the Sicilians, but MArco came to the rescue. He made a number of tele calls and actually fought my battle. You dont find that kind of help with the typical Sicilian. The hotel has easy access to all the typical sites. Taromina about 35 minutes. Etna and Siracuse about an hour. Very good breakfasts and excellant local restaurants. If there is one negative it has to be the tour buses. The hotel does cater to many tours but I found that they were usually gone by the time I had my breakfast.
