"just what you want for a weekend stay!"
I went to Prague in April this year with my fiance for a weekend break. we booked the hotel on a website called hotelopia which I thoroughly recommend as the deals are awesome for prague, well they were early on in the year but its worth a look. I was nervous about going to this hotel as I hadnt read any reviews on it but was happily surprised when we arrived. The hotel is clean, spacious the rooms were spot on had everything you needed. there are decent bars inside, the shops were adequate for gifts, the bowling alley was a nice touch too. The best part was the food and wine wow!! the best steak ever! I really enjoyed it. We had to catch the train into the centre of prague each day but it didnt cost much or take too long we enjoyed the adventure. overall a smashing place .

"Prague is great"
I had a great time in Prague at the end of July. It was very hot, but at the castle and tram stops in the centre a truck came along spraying a fine mist of water over people to cool down, it was great. The person who said about the trains beside Expo hotel was right! If your room is at the front of the hotel trains run right beside you, it is awful, the only time they seemed to stop is from 1am - 5am. The room numbers facing the train are 17 onwards, 1- 16 are at the back. We asked and were able to get our room changed to the other side and it was ok . Even with my tourist books and maps, the best map was one I picked up in the hotel, it was a free handpainted map which was easy to see where the trams went. Buy your tram tickets from the hotel, it is hard to get them elsewhere. From the hotel turn right and right again to get the tram, and get the tram going right direction to the centre, left goes out to the suburbs. The number 17 tram brings you to the centre, it can leave you right beside Charles Bridge. The number 12 brings you to the other side of the bridges. Get off at Malostranske and change to the other side to get the 22 or 23 up to the castle etc. The Child of Prague isn't really on the tourist trail, and was hard to find. If you get the number 12 tram, stay on until a few stops after Malostranske - Ujezd stop I think. The church is called Chram Panny Marie Vitizne. The Vystavište exhibition grounds beside the hotel look almost derelict, but the aquarium was open and the musical fountain at night. It was fantastic! The Krizik Fountain was built in 1891, it is a huge musical fountain with classical, ballet and modern dance performances 4 times nightly. It was spectacular and lovely on a warm summer evening. [--] gives you what time the different shows are on. It doesn't seem to get mentioned in the tourist books, and it was one of the best parts of our stay, and right beside the hotel.

"successful birthday break"
we booked this lovely hotel on hotelopia website which was excellent value for money. we satyed for 2 nights bed and breakfast. we didnt really expect alot for the price but were all pleasently surprised at the high standard of this hotel on the outskirts of town. you can the tram outside the hotel into town. we didnt think the distance away was a problem we quite enjoyed the short ride into the centre. as it was for my mums 50th birthday we went out for a FANTASTIC meal in a top class restaurant called 'Flambee' in the Old Town. it was quite expensive but I would recommend it to anyone who likes to have a brilliant dining experience it was expensive but it is definatley worth it for a one off. the food in the hotel other than breakfast was good and well priced. the rooms are comfortable with good showers. the mini bar was hard to resist so if you buy your own juices and put them in it will save you some money. hope you enjoy your time in prague as much as we did.
