"Had a fabulous time"
We arrived in Jasper in late September with the intention of driving around and finding a good deal on a room. Mistake! The place was heaving and we found oursleves in a long line of people in the Information Centre trying to find a room. Everything that was left seemed either expensive, dodgy (smoking room above the bar) or both! In the end we decided to go for one of the expensive options and paid about £125 a night for the Jasper Park Lodge expecting a bit of luxury. We were not disappointed - we had a sizable and well furnished room with a spacious balcony overlooking Lac Beauvert. The grounds are nicely landscaped (and home to roving elk) and the leisure activities were excellent, in particular the heated outdoor pool looking out onto the mountains. We opted not to eat our evening meals in the hotel due to the number of good restaurants in Jasper but instead retired to the lounges after dinner for cocktails in front of the roaring fire and house pianist. I would definalty recommend the Lodge for a relaxing base to explore Jasper Park Lodge.

"Outstanding location and property"
we stayed at the Jasper park lodge for 2 nights on our honeymoon. The staff were lovely so friendly and natural, we were given a fabulous cabin - just wish we had been there in the winter to put the wood burner on! the grounds are amazing, and lovely to walk around, and the seating areas around the lake are nice to sit and read a book, have a drink on etc. All the meals we had were outstanding especially in the mooses nook, where our server Adrianne was fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definately be returning there again at some point and I fell sorry for those who felt it was not goo - as per some of the other reviews - but my husband and I thought it was one of the best hotels. The local is very rural, but the hotel have cars to take out into the town, and little carts to take you to your cabins. We saw lots of wildlife in the area, and the local tours are well worth the time (we done the discover Jasper tour with Brewsters) cannot wait to return there!

"Hesitant to stay"
The service was great and attentive the room was lovely and it was simply beautiful. The lake is spectacular and there are so many activities to keep a family happy. We went horseback riding and saw a bear and elk on the trial. The elk were grazing right in front of our room. The staff at the hotel were friendly and everytime we called they were attentive to our needs. The only downside of the room we were in which was a lake front suite was that we were on the first floor and the sound proofing wasn't the best. The upstairs guests could be heard throughout the night which was somewhat upsetting. The room was very costlly and one might expect better in this area for what you are paying. I would go there again in a blink of an eye. It was a wonderful, relaxing and very beautiful place. Since it is a family location I felt the fitness area wasn't as nice as other fairmont locations that mainly target a business crowd. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to tell people to go .

"Great Hotel"
We stayed for three nights and have to say loved this place (and,no, we are not members of staff in case the previous reviewer thinks so!). The setting is lovely and the room was lovely with a good size balcony - only criticism here is that the bathroom, although beautifully fitted, was so small that you could only have one person in there at a time. The service in the Meadows Restaurant started off well for breakfast but we ended up having to chase our pot of tea three times and they forgot to bring our toast which they charged for but then took off the bill. The breakfast however was delicious. The service and food in the Emerald Lounge was excellent on the two nights we ate there. We could park the car outside our room but I would say the signage is very confusing around the roads within the lodge grounds - they have a one way system which we contradicted one day! The ambiance around the property was great and it has its own shopping mall with a wide variety of shops. We can thoroughly recommend a stay at the Jasper Park Lodge.

"Wonderful Experience!"
We were only booked at the hotel for two nights, but upon driving in the entrance, we knew we wanted to stay the whole week. We checked out the Fairmont in Banff and the one in Lake Louise. Both were beautiful, but seemed touristy and too big. The Jasper Park Lodge is a very special property - in every area. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier and helpful - some of the finest hospitality we have ever experienced. They also seemed to really love working there and love the area - always quick to give a suggestion for a hike or activity. I highly recommend the Jasper Park Lodge.

"A unique hotel"
You cannot fail to be impressed by this unique hotel, with its log cabins set in the pristine and stunning Canadian Rockies. The only drawback to our bijou Fairmont room was the lack of air conditioning. The ceiling fan was totally ineffectual and the little desk model wasn't much better. We took a chance and left the two small windows open overnight although, being Canada, we felt safe anyway. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Two calls to distant reception about the fan and the television were each dealt with within five minutes. Facilities on the entire complex are plentiful and excellent. My husband, a keen golfer, played a round of golf with three delightful Canadians and he described it as 'magic'. The rented clubs were new TaylorMades and a golf cart was included. He even saw a black bear on the 15th fairway, which beats the rabbits and squirrels at his local club. The breakfast buffet is absolutely superb. Altogether, an experience not to be missed.
