"friendly"
Falkensteiner Palace Hotel's front desk was friendly. Rooms appeared to be old, and the bed were to soft. But, not too bad for what it is in a city like Vienna. |

"a minimalist modern and cool hotel"
Falkensteiner Palace Hotel is a minimalist modern and cool hotel, the staff and ambiance is both friendly and cozy. It’s located in a quiet residential neighborhood so you get a flavor of the local restaurants, stores, and deli’s, but yet it’s only two blocks from the Pilgramgasse subway station, and only two short stops from the Innerstadt city center. |

"Friendly & Good value"
Stayed at the Falkensteiner Palace from the 12th to the 15th. Initially had room 308 which was very clean but compact. When the reception was spoken to they changed the room to 215 which was much bigger with a lounge area.
Breakfast very good and all in all very good value for money. The area itself is a little quiet, but found two very good restaurants close by namely Zum Alten Fassl & Silberwirt. The location is not bad though, very close to Pilgramgasse underground and various tram stops. Cant praise the staff enough very friendly and helpful throughout.
Please note however that the hotel only has twin beds and no doubles. Maybe something to bear in mind if you want a romantic weekend

"Excellent Hotel, in the end."
The Falkensteiner Hotel Palace is a Great hotel.
But when I arrived (after travelling all day) I was informed that the hotel had overbooked & that I would have to spend the first night at another hotel two minutes away (annoying, but that’s life I suppose). Anyway when I returned the next morning, the hotel upgraded my room & gave me a voucher for a couple of free drinks.
The hotel itself is slightly out of the centre (15 minute walk to the ring) but very close to the Pilgramgasse metro station from which all points of interest are easily accessible. The surrounding area is fine, there are some excellent bars & restaurants in the vicinity, but it remains nice & quiet.
My room (#115) was large & well furnished, as were all the public areas. All the staff were friendly & the buffet breakfast was excellent.
One point to note is that WiFi access in the hotel is via A1 (Vodafone’s’ Austrian partner) & is expensive, but there are a couple of cafés two minutes away ( Aquadrat Café-Bar, Margaretenstrasse 55 & Café Standard, Margaretenstrasse 63 ) that offer free WiFi access.
All in all (apart from the first night hitch) an excellent hotel, at a very reasonable price for Vienna. Recommended!

"Great hotel, best breakfast!"
This was a great hotel. The room was not large, as is normal for European hotels, but was absolutely clean (white sheets and a white bath/shower are top of my requirements) and has obviously been recently renovated. For the price, this was the best hotel of our European trip. The buffet breakfast (included in the room rate) was fabulous. I wish we had stayed there for more than one night, and I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Vienna.

"Great rooms, decent location, amazing free breakfast"
Just stayed at this place for a quick business trip to Vienna. Since our company is on a cost minimalization program, I avoided booking a room at the larger, central hotels (about $250-$350 per night). However, I wanted to avoid the situation I was in last time I visited Vienna, in which I stayed at an inexpensive hotel that had a very small room and a tiny twin bed. The Falkensteiner Palace was the perfect solution.
The cost was about half of a major hotel (about $110 per night), and it included the best breakfast buffet I have seen outside of Las Vegas. The lobby is nice, and the recently re-done rooms are very big by European standards and very, very nice. They look like the model rooms from Expo (high-end redecorating store in the US).
Perhaps the only downside I can see is the location, which is still not too bad. Everything is within walking distance, including the subway and the center of town (though it's probably better to take a taxi in cold weather). By the way, taxis are not particularly expensive in Vienna, so this little issue is no big deal.
This place is quite a find, and I feel quite lucky to have taken the chance to stay here.

Lovely
The hotel was close to the centre of town - walking distance. The room was large and bright with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. And the bar was also a nice place for a drink before heading out for dinner. |
