Highly recommended
May 2009, Greig n Suzi 45 + 41 We have just spent 2 nights in Room 42, with the 7ft round bed and jacuzzi, wot a weekend Lol. Cannot fault anything about this hotel, it is absolutely spotless, tons of character, all the staff are absolutely superb couldn't be more helpful or friendly. The food was second to none and very generous portions as well. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, old or young it has everything for everybody.

"One of the nicest things ....."
February 2005 Angela & Gary - 33 & 36, Airdrie Booking this hotel for the night has got to be one of the nicest things my boyfriend has ever done! I was expecting to stay in a twin room as "that was all they had left". Mmmmm. Arrived at the hotel and was given the key to room 43. Walking though the door was like walking back in time. Four poster bed, very victorian, fire place, the view, and the bathroom - what can I say. OMG!!!!!!!! Champagne and everything. I could go on and on........ I wanted to spend the night in the bath which could easily hold 4 adults - massive. If you can, go onto the web site which is very good. I would recommend the hotel, the "normal" rooms, but especially the "special rooms" to anyone. The hotel staff were very nice, service was excellent. Only thing I would say is ask for your towels to be left for you in the morning - they seem to have a habit of taking the towels from your room when you are at breakfast. We are going to visit the hotel again but this time I think the room with the circular bed and the jaccuzzi will be the winner, or maybe the split room, or maybe ........ Gary, thank you so much for giving me such a memorable weekend. LUB

"Couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome!!"
My elderly parents and I stayed for one night only and wished we could have stayed for a week. This hotel has bags of character and to the disappointed Glasgwegians who also posted a review, yes the decor is a bit shabby and the rooms are anything but modern minimalist but everything was spotlessly clean and charming. We ate in the hotel bistro on the Saturday night and the food was equal to anything being served in the best restaurants in Edinburgh and very reasonably priced. Great breakfast on the Sunday morning too. Add to all this the very friendly and helpful (not forgetting hardworking) staff and the Falls of Lora gets 10 out of 10 and a big thumbs up from the Sutherland family! We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone and will visit again.
