"Great Hotel!"
My girlfriend found Abba Rambla Hotel looking on the web. I checked Tripadvisor to see if there was any feedback and they were just ok. So we booked our stay (4 nights) there. The Hotel is brand new, the guys at the reception speak english and warmly welcome you giving you all the directions you would expect. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, with LCD TV on the wall and spacious bathrooms. The Hotel is 5 minutes from the famous Ramblas and the subway, 10 minutes from Plaza de Catalunya. There is a drawback: El Raval is not the nicest place in Barcelona and you have to be careful when it's dark. By the way, the receptionist will explain you which streets not to take, so just follow their advice.

"Lovely stay"
We spent five nights at the Abba Rambla hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located very close to the centre of the city and the harbour. The hotel is modern, clean, reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. I am happy to recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

"Highly recommended"
This is an excellent, modern hotel in a very central location. Having read some of the previous reviews I was a little concerned about area of the hotel. While it's certainly in a one of the more colourful parts of the city, some of the previous comments are perhaps a little over the top. I felt totally secure leaving the hotel on foot at 10.30pm and returning at 3am. It certainly was not necessary to book a taxi when leaving the hotel at night. The rooms are modern, very clean and comfortable. Staff were efficient, polite and spoke good English. Overall this hotel is highly recommended and offers good value for money.

"Great Hotel in a central area"
Just spent Christmas in this hotel and was a bit concerned regarding peoples reviews on the position of the hotel. Yes, you do have to walk though some back streets to get there but we didnt see any trouble. I can imagine it can be a bit daunting for women on their own but if you walk through the square in the direction of the port you miss out most of these streets. In any case, it is just full of people going about their daily business and gives you a different side of Barcelona. You are more likely to become the victim of a pickpocket on the Ramblas than in these streets. The hotel itself was lovely - we had a room with a small balcony overlooking the square - which was noisy - but the double glazing was so good that once the windows were closed we couldnt hear anything. One thing - they have smaoking and non smoking floors -- we were on a smoking floor which wasnt a problme as the hotel wasnt full, but worth asking for a non smoking floor if you require it. Great breakfast selection and lovely decoration and comfortable rooms. All in all very good value for money and a great stay.
