Well known for the high quality of its service, and the comfort of its facilities.
The Firenze & Continentale Hotel is well known for the high quality of its service, and the comfort of its facilities. The Hotel was built in the early 1900s and was subsequently enlarged and modified several times, until it was completely restored and refurbished in the last few years.
The hotel was completely refurbished with the purpose of recreating the atmosphere of the period in which it was first constructed. All details of the decorations (wood panelling, marble floors, brass lamps, wall paintings) have been carefully designed with that original idea in mind.
For conferences and business meetings, the hotel has two separate conference rooms, furnished with sophisticated equipment. The conference rooms can accommodate more than 100 people combined.
The Hotel bar has an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, and is an ideal place to unwind with one of its famous cocktails. The various halls, decorated with a touch of elegance, are the ideal place for a rendezvous. |

"Great value & quality"
We spent two nights at this hotel during a weekend in June. The double room (105 euros, advance booking) was the best value for all of our hotel stays in Italy. The room and bathroom were fair-sized and very clean. The breakfast selection (included in the price) was very extensive and delicious. The only downside was the relatively weak A/C -- adequate, but didn't cool the room below 75F.
The hotel was only steps away from the train station in La Spezia, which is a 15-minute train ride away from Cinque Terre. It was a super-convenient location for day trips. We avoided paying at least 50 euros more a night to stay in a Cinque Terre town, plus deal with the hassle of lugging bags around narrow streets.
Try the restaurant across the street. We saw a bunch of locals eating their specialties: grilled prawns, as well as proscuitto with cantaloupe.
