"Perfect location for a romantic Autumn Break!"
Firstly, I am surprised that there are no other reviews on the site for this hotel! This probably means everyone who has stayed has had a nice stay - but this should mean all the more reason to write a review!
We got a last minute deal from Laterooms---- on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate in a superior room.
The room size was fantastic - as well as large double bed, there was a "sitting room" area. The bathroom was huge, and beautifully decorated and immaculately cleaned. We had an ironing board, iron and hairdryer in the room, plus tea & coffee facilites (with biccies!), mineral water & a television. Everything you need for a lazy weekend! The views from our room were gorgeous - looking out across the Loch.
I indulged in some beauty treatments, which are done in your room. Sheer bliss and very reasonably priced. My husband took on the challenge of Clay Pigeon shooting, arranged at the Water Sports Center right across the road from the hotel.
The location of the hotel is only an hour from Glasgow but you feel you are miles from anywhere. The Loch is beautiful and the grounds are gorgeous for walking.
The leisure facilities are first class, and the restaurant was fantastic. Excellent service and excellent food. There is also a steak restaurant and bar in the leisure complex - service was slightly slower here that the restaurant.
You have to see this place to believe it - we had a fantastic weekend.

"Fun in the Trossachs"
My wife and I stayed just after New Year when things had quietened down a little.
We wanted a peaceful 2/3 day break in a good hotel in a beautiful location not to far from Glasgow - and that’s exactly what we got.
The location is perfect with stunning scenery – mixture of loch, hills and forest views. When we arrived the place was bathed in mist following a snowfall and it was a just fabulous.
The reception was vg and the room was lovely in the main hotel. I don’t know what the timeshare apartments nearby were like but they looked ok. The hotel though has an old feel with lots of wood, stone and roaring fires.
The staff could not do enough and given most were eastern Europeans they appeared to have been highly trained – credit to the McDonald Hotel group for staff training.
We had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast could have been a bit more adventurous on the buffet front but the cooked stuff was perfect. The fixed dinner menu – included in our deal – was brilliant both nights and the wine was superb.
All-in-all no complaints. A wee bit pricey at the bar but what the hell! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel
