"Good central location"
Hotel Fortuna was great.
Located opposite the railway station with reasonably sized clean rooms and a good breakfast. We arrived very late following an Italiatrain delay. No problem with booking on line. Staff were very helpful with hire car and general advice.
Car hire place next door.

Very well located opposite the railway station with constant supply of buses to town and airport, all resonably priced 1 70 euro to airport.as opposed to 30 in taxi.
rooms spotless, staff very helpful and informative, buffet breakfast adequate, one down point staff quoted 20cents per minute for international calls only to be given a bill of 1 euro per min.

"Recommended Hotel in Ancona, Italy"
This was the 2nd hotel I tried to book in Ancona for the last night of our 8 night stay in Italy for September 2004. The first hotel refused to reply to numerous emails and faxes. This one was the 2nd one which was within our budget and again no joy from emailing. Only on faxing did they spring in to life and actually called me at home to confirm the booking. After all the trouble we could easily have just turned up on the day and got in as the hotel had plenty of vacancies.
Location wise Hotel Foruna is directly opposite the station and buses to/from the airport. Not the best part of town (a good 2kms walk) however our room was allocated at the back so we were kept away from the constant stream of traffic of the road in front.
Our reservation confirmation quoted us EUR 83 for a double including breakfast. We were somewhat surprised to be upgraded to the suite at EUR 155 according to the price list on the room. The room was clean, well kept and comprised a main bedroom with double bed, TV lounge with sofa-bed plus bathroom.
Our only complaint was the fact that some of the rooms were being re-decorated and parts of the carpet in the hallways were dirty.
Breakfast was included and for Italian standards was particularly good with a range of cereals, breads, cheeses & cold meats etc.
Conclusion: Will recommend this hotel (a 3-star) though there seems to be plenty of choice in the same area (by the station) plus a few others in the city centre.
