"Highly recommended!"
I stayed here in August 2002. This was magnificent. Very clean, helpful staff and well organised. They provide a buffet breakfast which is described as 'sumptuous' in their literature. Though it's not quite that, it is also good. The cost is more than the average hostel, but this is no hostel. This is a real, yet basic, hotel. They have an interesting map of the world on the wall. Guests are encouraged to put a pin in the location they are from, so everyone can see the diversity of their fellow guests. The location is good - a short bus or metro journey into the heart of the city. Highly recommended.

"Good value,clean accomodation"
My husband and I stayed at the Fortuna hotel on a recent 5 night break to Budapest. We felt it offered good value, clean basic holiday accomodation. Nothing fancy but all that is needed when visiting a city. Although not central,we used the underground, the station being within 10 minutes walk, and found it very efficient and easy to use. Best plan is to buy 1 to 3 day passes which means you can travel freely on tubes, buses and trams.Buffet breakfast at hotel was fine if not overly exciting and hotel bar quite cheap for night caps!We ate at next door Chinese restaurant which was good enough and a restaurant at the opposite exit of the underground station which was very good value.Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We used the airport minibus both ways which proved to be good value and reliable.Rooms were a reasonable size, warm and clean.Sheets and towels were regularly changed. The Hungarian programmes on our TV proved an interesting challenge!
