"We liked Hotel France" Great little hotel right on the top edge of the red light district. Did not feel unsafe at all. Was the weekend of a festival, so place was absolutelu full! Our room was in the basement but clean, neat and tidy. Good size bathroom. No noise from outside as we were downstairs, so good nights sleep. Good aircon as well. Breakfast was hearty in the irish pub next door. Great little hotel for the price and location. Would stay there again.

"Good location" Good location. Wasn't noisy. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Also had a lift, which was great. Breakfast served in Irish bar next door, which was fine.

"A good experience" Having been to Amsterdam on many occasions, I found the Hotel France to be one of the better hotels that we have stayed at. The Hotel is situated in an very good, and quiet location, just 5 minutes walk from the train station (at the top of Warmostraat), and overlooks a canal. Its within walking distance to the Red light District, and close to many of the gay bars (in the Warmostraat area) It would appear that this hotel has been recently renovated, with a modern reception area and new furniture in the bedrooms. Our room was bright, fresh and clean, and quite large (for Amsterdam). There bathroom was also large and modern with an enclosed shower area. Although this hotel was quite expensive, I would definitely recommend it.

"Great Hotel" Have to say after reading some of the reviews on this hotel I felt some trepidation!! Arrived at 230pm on a Monday and was amazed by the location of the hotel only 5 minutes from the station just down a small quiet street overlooking the canal. The hotel was about two or three minutes walk from the red light district, china town and a good selection of bars. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and very helpful, The bedroom, room 202 overlooked the back of the hotel no view as such but that had its advantages as it was very quiet. The room, was very large clean and fresh it also had A/C that was a bonus the room also had a good shower with good pressure and was very clean. I have worked in the hotel Industry for the last 23 years and have found that if you speak to staff the way that you would like to be spoken to you will get a lot more out of them!! hence the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast in the pub next door was also good, well on the occasions that we made it!!. For 120 euros per night for two people in the centre of a city you have to realistic in what you can expect. So to summerise great hotel good value and brillent location will return possibly for Honeymoon!!.

"Awsome Location" GREAT place to stay. 5min walk to train station & Red light District. Hotel rooms/bathrooms very clean. Bed linen, bath & shower gel & towles inc. Breakfast is great which is served in the local pub next door. I would defiantely reccommend this place!
