"a good choice" Front Maritim Hotel was a good property, overlooking the beach and close to the Marina, had its own parking and was a 2 minute walk to the tourist bus stop that travels around Barcelona. At Breakfast there was a good choice to suit everyone. Genesis, Mexico City

"Stayed here for the football" Stayed here 27th-29th March with my 4 year old son. We were in Barcelona to watch Andorra v England which was unfortunate. Just glad I booked this back in July and didn't pay England football prices. Hotel was fantastic, staff were very friendly and accomodating with my son. Only problem was room size, but I was aware they were small having read reviews on here. Also distance from centre, as we were only there a couple of days I used taxis and on average paid about 8 euros to Las Ramblas, again I was aware of this before we went. Good news is proximity to the Diagonal Mar shopping centre which offered a couple of play parks for him on the way and also a relatively good choice of restaurants. Would recommend and stay again.

"Good hotel" Easy to reach Metro station (10 mins walk). Near the beautiful beach, Fair breakfast, Nice staff. Free Internet access in lobby , but no wifi. I will stay again.

"Nice staff, clean and comfortable!" Stayed at Front Maritim on June 3rd & 4th. We were pleasantly surprised by the helpful front desk staff. We arrived early for our room, but the staff stored our luggage and informed us our room would be ready in just a few hours. The room was small (this place definitely caters for business travelers) but immaculate. The bed was quite comfortable, no problems with the shower water pressure, and the room had minimalist Ikea decor. Our floor had about three small refrigerators that contained bottled water, free to the guests. The breakfast buffet had generous amounts of food: ham, manchego cheese, coffee, bread, danish, spanish omelet, bacon, yogurt, fruit, and a variety of fresh juices. The lobby also has two computers with free internet access, though printing is not an option. While this Hotel is a bit off the beaten path, it is located only 3 blocks from a metro stop, which was quite easy to navigate. Located right in front of the hotel is a wide footpath with a lovely view of the Med. Great for exercise or just taking in the sights.

Good Accomadtion The staff was acommadating to my sister and I though there was miscommunication on their end. The breakfast was served warm and filled you up before heading out. The location to the beach and the metro can't be beat!

The only place to stay The rooms are clean. the hotel is convenient for town. The food was excellent and the staff exceptional.

Young at Heart Married Couple - Leicestershire Superb hotel!! Extremly helpful staff, very good clean rooms (bathrooms very posh) free water chilled in the minibars on each floor a great bonus. Breakfast very varied and plentiful. There is a chilled layed back atmosphere about this hotel. City is in easy reach via number 41 bus which you can pick up in the street behind the hotel. Diagonal Mar shopping centre 5 mins walk away has everything from supermarket to a cimema, very useful for supplies to picnic on the beach. Beach bars in easy walking distance, don't miss Sunday nights beach party at the bar on the beach opposite the hotel (every Sunday). If you are not sure don't hesitate to ask the staff they are very helpful and nothing is too much effort. Would most definitely use this hotel again.

married in their 40's A good hotel - clean facilities, air-conditioning, and the free water found on every floor a god send! Good spot for beach but a little distance from the "centre" - use of metro just ten mins. walk away (line 4, yellow line) within easy reach and so easy to access, T10 ticket just approx. 4 euros. Didn't eat at the hotel but found several "back street" local cafes serving breakfasts, including Full English, but preferred the baguettes and coffee that were on offer. Great Shopping Mall just 10 mins walk away, Diagonal Mar, good shops including designer. Some great fish resturants down at Barconaletta and Port Olympic. Would come back again!

GIRLS WEEKEND AWAY The staff were totally professional and couldn't have done more to help and were very nice and friendly. The rooms were wonderful and clean. Breakfast magnificent and plentyful. The chilled water available - a godsend in the heat. Only €1.20 by bus into the city centre. 10 minutes walk from a shopping Centre with Tapas bars ( out of the hotel hang left then cross road turn left then at next junction turn right. €20 by taxi from airport. €36 from hotel to airport. would definately go stay here again.

Married 75yr old couple anniverssary trip. ENGLISH Superb staff, spotless clean establishment , lovely room, super breakfast, excellent dinner but dinner menu very restricted, and was the same all 4 days we were there, furthermore we had to ask for our room to be serviced on 2 occasions late afternoon as had not been done, we may try it again as this is a new district just being developed, a few staff spoke english but had no problem there , always happy to help guests.

"Honest helpful staff" Stayed here and it was very nice. A bit of a treck to downtown with kids but was advised this prior to booking. Handy for beach area and Sunday nights are fab, local people are everywhere and so friendly. Restaurants close to hotel on beach are a treat with musicians entertaining(sundays). Candlelit beach bars. Room great.If you use Bus Turistic (everyone does) the green line stops near hotel or metro close. My teenage son left his wallet with over $100 euros behind and after a fone call to Sonia she said the maid handed it in and it is now on its way to us at home....thats great service. Free bottle water too...would go back. requested rooms next to each other through hotel connect and all went to plan. rates good too £55 per room. Worthy of 4 star rating

"Great Hotel for the Summerl" My husband and I just came back after a 4 night stay in this hotel. During the hot summertime, when your too hot to keep walking and sightseeing ,THIS is the best location to stay: right at the beach. Nova Mar Bella is the most attractive beach in Barcelona, though it can be quit crowded..it is not as crowded as the Bogatell and Barceloneta area. The beach is suprisingly clean and in the night it is nice and romantic to have a picnic at the beach..just as the locals do. Jus get some nice calamares, wine and bread in the around the corner supermercado and enjoy eating, drinking and staring at the stares at night, maybe even take a swim. And after the picnic you just have a seat in the nearest beachbar...too hot in the inner city anyway. The brakfast is excellent, the staf friendly...the cleaning of the rooms just perfect..the mini bar with free bottled waters and apples are just a nice service. During SUMMER I would definitely take this hotel again.But during winter/spring tome I probably take a hotel in the city centre since it IS kind of a drag with the metro. However..the subway is only 10 minutes walking from the hotel... Next to the hotel is an asian restaurant but the service there completely ---- . Don't advice that unless you really have to (which is probably often the case). And around the hotel there's not much to go to, so like i said...a good hotel for summertime where you at least have a sit at the many beachclubs that are quit active. However..this is probably an area in the making...a lot of projects so in 3 years or so things probably be changed I miss the hotel and the wonderful beach allready...also the excellent breakfast!!

"Excellent" 4x 40 year olds. 3 nights in Sept 05. Pure Luxury! Beautiful hotel,lots of black and white marble! Staff couldn't do enough to help. Bathrooms amazing,imaculate bedrooms. Contempory design! Free bottled water on every floor.Amazing selection for breakfast. Bacon,eggs,cheese,cold meat,pastries, toast,cereal,freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice and an amazing table of fresh fruit. Our breakfast lasted hours! Breakfast served till 10.30am! Tube station to centre 10 min walk away. Easy. Nice to get away from busy city centre in the eve though not many restaurants around hotel. Need to walk to nearby mall(out Hotel turn left)or along beach ( right from hotel)about 20 mins for good trational spanish. Perfect weather that time of year. Can't wait to go back. Excellent value for money if booked well in advance.

"The Posh Life..." We stayed at this hotel for two nights and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. In fact we didn't want to leave it...but had to do some sightseeing. The distance from the beachfront is less than 5mins and it would be such a bonus in summer. The weather was bad but the hotel was fabolous. The breakfast was delicious and very impressive. The rooms were a good size and the interior decor was amazing. The marble bathroom spectacular. I would definitely recommend this hotel.A bit far from Gerona Airport, so I recommend flying in at Barcelona Airport. Easy access from Gerona if you flying to Gerona. But Barcelona Airport would be better. The hotel is situated close to most attractions so its all good. We were verey impressive!!!!

"Excellent, Definately worth a trip" I stayed at the hotel in September 2005 when I had won a trip through work to Barcelona. I booked the hotal after reading the reviews on this site and seeing the pictures of it. From the airport we got a taxi which took about 20 minutes of a cost of about 25 euros. The hotel is slightly outside the city centre but there is a metro station about 5 minutes walk away and a taxi back at night was about 10 euros, definately worth paying rather than having to go on the metro late at night. The hotel was excellent as soon as you walked in the doors it looked like a 4 star hotel should. The receptionists spoke excellent English and there were even some sweets on there while you were checking in. To get to the lifts you have to go down some stairs to the lifts which was a bit inconvenient but not a real proplem. The room was excellent, good size and very clean. The bathroom was great as well with the usual toiletries provided. There was a TV in the room which was obviously in Spanish but there was an English music channel and some news programmes as well. At the end of the corridoor on each floor there was a fridge with free bottled water available. There was fizzy and still and ideal to take out in your bag if you want to avoid buying it when your out. The breakfast was great, continental but with plenty of choice of food and drinks. Also in the reception area were some computers you could use to access the internet, again, free of charge. I had heard Barcelona was bad for robberies and unfortunately my bag was stolen whilst in McDonalds. Fortunately my hotel booking was in the bag so they contacted the hotel and when I got back a note under my door advising me of this. I went to thank the receptionist for this and they couldn't have been more helpful. The advised me what McDonalds had told them and how to get back there. Excellent service, taking some of the hassle away. Would I go back to the hotel? Definately, it was one of the best I have ever stayed in. However, would I go back to Barcelona, probably not, nice place its a pity about the crime. Just make sure you don't let your possesions out of sight in town

clean and modern the hotel is 5 mins away from metro. It provide mineral water. The design of the rooms are modern, a little bit cyber feel. Nice breakfast. Would like to return.
