horrible stay!!
Our stay in Garden view hotel was the most horrible one ever!!!! the rooms are way to tiny and it was really cold inside the rooms!! it was dirty, especially in the bathrooms!! and the worst thing are the BEDBUGS!! we took them home from our trip to london and had to fight against them for more than 3 weeks, that was a really disgusting experience! I am really mad about that! in garden view hotel you really don't get what you deserve for the price.. |

???
It was quite cold, corridor was actually warmer than the rooms. Central heating was broken as we complained to the reception but they did not do anything. no good english speakers at hotel. apart from that it was a good choice. |

Don't stay here
We stayed at the Garden View Hotel for 4 nights, We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was not clean, the springs were poking into us from the horrible bed,and the towels they gave us we would use to wash our cars. We know that hotel rooms in Europe are small, but this room was really tiny. It was advertised as having a free continental breakfast, instant coffee and toast, vot what we expected. The staff was all Russian, and were not helpful at all. Please select another hotel for your stay in London |

Nice place to stay
I stayed at the Garden View Hotel in December 2007 and I can honestly say that the hotel is worth what you pay. First of all, the hotel has a great location close to the Earls Court tube station, so you are within easy reach to the all touristic attractions. They have basically furnished, clean rooms, comfortable enough to let you have a good night sleep. I have to accept the breakfast was hopeless, but there are several small shops to buy something to eat. Over all, Garden View Hotel is a nice place to stay with a limited bugdet. |

Slightly disappointed
Good location, nice view onto Nevern Sq but its the smallest single ensuite I have ever stayed in - had to straddle the toilet in order to close the door to get into the shower. Only place to sit was the bed. Stayed 3 nights but the room wasn't cleaned after the second night. Went to complain but staff were busy with a large group of students who were staying. Didn't sleep well due to noise from other rooms. Cannot comment on breakfast due to being away before breakfast was served. |

Very nice stay....I'd come back.
I was at the Garden View in Sept '07. I had a single room looking out over Nevern Sq. The room and bathroom were small but they were fine for my needs. There was a shower stall and hair dryer in the bath and a flat screen TV in the room. I did have to ask for towels one day, though. The continental breakfast was cereal, toast, coffee and juice. Would've been nice to have some fruit.
The location couldn't have been better. It's two minutes from the Earl's Court tube station's back exit and it's a straight shot from Heathrow on the Piccadilly line. Earl's Court Rd was a quick 5 minute walk where there was a post office, the main entrance to the tube station, internet cafes, restaurants, shops and a small grocery (where I got my daily apple).
Overall I had a nice stay and felt quite safe as a single woman traveling alone.

"good choice"
Good value hotel, for the price they offer. If you are looking for a clean room to stay in and a good location, this is a good choice. I stayed in many 2* in London, but this is one of the better ones.
The rooms are good size, I had a family room, and the bathroom was hugue!
Breakfast is a no-frills one: juice-coffee-toast-jam, but you can eat as much as you like

"No complaints"
I stayed four nights in the hotel and honestly had zero problems. The people were brief but helpful and knowing that there would be little in the way of extras, I simply didn't expect what was not coming. Honestly, I'm pretty independant so much of the services American hotels provide I do not use.
My room in this hotel was small, neat, and clean (sort of like an Ikea display), facing the garden (even though the garden in question is for residents only) and the street was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. And after running around in central London, I was happy for a break from crowds!
Garden View is not far from Earl's Court tube station and some small markets/restaurants like Wagamama; I would happily stay there again.
As others have noted, the provided breakfast is fairly basic, but I tried it one morning and enjoyed the corn flakes. It was enough to sastisfy my hunger until lunch.
