"Highly Recommended!"
We loved Hotel Giglio. It is a small "boutique" hotel in a wonderful location - a five minute walk to "David" and a bit further to the Duoma. We walked all over Florence from here. Marco, the owner, is totally interested in making his guests happy. He chats with everyone during breakfast - and by the way, breakfast is simple but adequate, and enhanced by the wonderful woman who makes your coffee to order. The room we had was on the small side, but to be expected in a 3-star hotel. It was immaculately clean, had lovely linens, and three English language TV channels. If you need to park a car, make sure to let the hotel know. They have an arrangement with a nearby gated lot, for a reasonable additional charge. The family also owns a fantastic restaurant in Florence, Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco. Yum!

"Wonderful hotel"
We had a wonderful experience in this Hotel and stayed there two nights. As there were four of us, we reserved the large family room (#20). It has 16 ' high ceilings and parquet floors. Beds were comfortable and the shower was great. This hotel is part of a building constructed in about the 1600's, which adds to its charm, but the rooms are well-kept and maintained. The breakfast was great and we were not charged extra for it. Our daughters wanted to sleep in, so the manager made up a breakfast for them to eat in our room.
The location is near the museum housing the original David statue. It is a minor walk to the other museums and train station.
No regrets. A nice room to discover for 4 travelers in Europe, where it is really hard to find even a dinky room for more than 1 or two people.
