"Great place to stay" Stayed for a week at the Gold Hotel Panzio. Very friendly staff, the rooms were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Definately no complaints.Trolleybuses provide an excellent service into town, so staying here isn't inconvenient. A big plus is it is a short journey to the Szechenyi baths. Just be aware that Metro 1 finishes at about 11pm, if you're travelling back late plan your journey accordingly. The local Trofea Grill is also highly recommended and is good even for non meat-eaters.

"wonderful hotel and staff" We stayed here twice this summer - in July and August, first for 3 days and then a week. We chose this hotel based on other peoples reviews regarding the staff being extremely helpful and speaking english (as our hungarian is very poor!). Our experience was fantastic - the staff were lovely and could not do enough to help us. They pointed us in the direction of lovely restaurants and suggested places to visit, they also helped us with taxis when we needed them. The rooms are fine - if you are in Budapest to see the city and have a comfortable place to lay your head at night then this is the place and the price is very reasonable. The hotel is located slightly further out of the centre, but this is not an issue and probably is a bonus as you'll see areas you would not normally venture into. We will definitely be stayiing here again when we next go back to Budapest - which is in October!

"Excellent little hotel" We stayed 3 nights in early September and found the Gold hotel pension a lovely place to stay. Yes it is a little out of town, but he buses are regular and cheap, and that more than makes up for any inconvenience. We found the breakfasts good. If you turn up later in the morning and things look a bit sparce on the breakfast table you simply ask the staff who will get you anything you want or that has gone. The reception staff speak excellent english and are very helpful. A very pleasant stay. Note though that the directions to the hotel if driving are a little confusing and you have to go UNDER the bridge once you exit the motorway for them to make sence ( donot follow the main direction the road wants to take you)
