"Loved the Golden Ring"
Spent a week with my son and daughter while visiting family in Moscow. We found the rooms adequate in size though needing more storage space for clothing. Breakfast buffet the best we've ever seen with a large variety to satisfy any appetite. Housekeeping seemed invisible, but room was entered several times a day if we were out and used towels replaced, beds tidied if mussed, etc. Obvious presence of security made us feel safe leaving luggage and belongings in the room. Lady at the currency exchange window a little grumpy but most staff cordial, even when my noisy, not well disciplined granddaughter visited several times during our stay. The hotel was very clean, elegant and room service food wonderfully prepared and no pricier than other hotels. If you order ice cream, don't expect a scoop in a little silver bowl; you'll get a three-flavored creation with whipped cream and fruit! Be sure to visit the restaurant downstairs serving traditional Russian food.
Don't know about value for dollar as my son paid the bill, but I would stay at this hotel anywhere in the world based on the one in Moscow.

"Top hotel"
I stayed at the Golden Ring Hotel for two weeks. I had a great room, it was extremely clean with a wonderful view of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The bathroom had a separate bath and shower.
One day I needed the sleeves of a suit to be adjusted. The laundry service of the hotel did it for $8 only.
Breakfast was not included in the room price. It cost an extra $ 20. A harp player would perform whilst you would have your breakfast. There was an immense selection of food.
I have great memories of my stay at the Golden Ring hotel.
