LOCATION
Hotel Golden Star is situated on a lovely street directly leading up to the Prague Castle in Hradcany district of Prague. Numerous restaurants and bars as well as historic sights are located within immediate vicinity of Hotel Golden Star. The closest tram station is Malostranske Namesti, situated on Mala Strana (Lesser Town) town square.
The biggest medieval castle complex in the world, Prague Castle comprises many palaces, churches, gardens, observation towers and a museum. Some important sights within the complex are St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica, Golden Lane, Daliborka Tower and the Palatial Gardens.
If you walk along Nerudova Street which was named after world-famous writer Jan Neruda, you will arrive at Mala Strana (Lesser Town), one of the oldest districts of Prague. Mala Strana boasts numerous restaurants, cafes, bars and many embassies including United States and Germany. St. Nicholas Church and Churh of Our Lady Victorious, house of the Infant Jesus of Prague are located in Mala Strana as well.
Approximately a 10 minute walking distance from Hotel Golden Star is the romantic Charles Bridge, built in 14th and 15th centuries and connects Mala Strana to Old Town. This 516 metres long bridge is decorated with 30 statues of saints and apostles.

"Great Location"
Just back from a stay at the Zlata Hvezda. It is a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. It took us no more than ten minutes to walk down to the Charles Bridge and all the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Although up hill on the return, it isn't that steep and it's well worth the climb for the excellent views out over the city.
The hotels location is adjacent to Prague castle and St Vitus cathedral (2 minutes walk). The hotel itself is great, the staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean, well furnished and most importantly this summer, air conditioned - it is well worth requesting, in advance of your stay, an upper floor room at the front of the building - the views across the city are stunning.
There are loads of reasonably priced places to eat in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and of course you have the option of dining at the hotel itself.
This area was great to stay in as it was fairly quiet from around 10.30pm, even at the weekend, but close enough to be able to walk to all the main attractions (Charles Bridge, 10mins - Old Town Square, 20mins - Wenceslas Square, 25mins) all great places for people watching especially at night.
One final recommendation if flying into Prague check out (no pun intended!) the website of Prague Airport Transfers, an excellent company who provided us with a first class service.

"excellent hotel"
My wife and I booked this hotel online after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. Lovely clean rooms and very helpful staff and a great location in Prague. Only drawback might be the walk up the hill from the Charles Bridge for those less able! Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in outside of Ireland.
