Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam is ideally situated near the center of Amsterdam, the RAI Congress Center, the World Trade Center. Le Meridien Apollo is situated in the Museum Quarter. Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam has a fantastic room, great view of canal. Nice bar where we drank outside. Helpful and FRIENDLY staff. Only the type of split matress on the double bed, the lump in the middle makes it feel like you roll away from each other.

Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam is a beautiful place on the outskirts of the downtown area. It was always quiet, clean, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Amsterdam.

Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam was wonderful. we enjoyed staying there very much. the only thing that we would have liked wouldhave a been a queen or king-sized bed, otherwise, it was perfect!

Unlike some other reviewers who had concerns about the location, I found the hotel to have reasonable access to the city. The major art museums in Amsterdam (museumplein area) are within 10 minutes walking distance. The residential area that surrounds the hotel is beautiful. And there is a gas station mini-mart next door which is an excellent source for inexpensive drinks and snacks. The key to getting around the city is the #5 tram whose stop is 3-5 minutes walk from the hotel. This trolley takes you to all of the sites including the red light district, Anne Frank House, and Central Station. There is no need to take a taxi. Finally, the service provided at the hotel was excellent. The front desk and concierge were very helpful and polite, the room was maintained well, and the Le Meridien was clearly a 4* hotel in all respects. One final note, the Amsterdam Hilton is within walking distance and is no more convenient to the city center than the Le Meridien. Given that the Le Meridien is less expensive than the Hilton and many comparable 4* hotels in the center of the city, I recommend staying here and saving money on the room.
