"Excellent hotel and great location" Recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Excellent location. Very close (5/10 mins walk) to Dam Square and Centraal Station but far enough away not to be bothered by too much noise! We had a non-smoking double room not incl breakfast. Our room was situated overlooking the inner courtyard of the building so there was absolutely no noise. Bed was very comfortable, a huge king size, room and bathroom were a decent size. Perfect for what we were looking for (sleep and shower) rooms were always clean and to a very high standard, new towels everyday plus free toiletries replaced everyday. Free internet in the hote lobby was very usefull, hotel bar was expensive but was on a similar par with some of the pubs/bars nearby and seating area were very comfortable Breakfast prices were very expensive (18-20 euro's) so we never ate in the hotel once. We found plenty of restaurants open very early in the morning on Damrak street (not even 5 mins walk from hotel) to have a Full English for a fraction of the cost (5.50 Euro's each) although choosing your choice of place to eat was a bit of a chore as you were accosted by staff trying to lure you into the restaurant while trying to have a quick look at the menu from outside. We tried several places and they were all of a similar standard. We never used the mini-bar or hotel snacks, instead we bought our own on the way home and moved things around in the fridge so our water, juice etc would be cold for the next day as it was far cheaper doing it this way. Staff in the hotel and bar we found to be very friendly and helpfull. We were given a free map when checking in that was put to good use (even though we had our own). We absolutely loved our stay in Amsterdam and will definitely stay in the Golden Tulip hotel again as it was of a superior standard and such a excellent location.

"No faults Found" Great Location It is so central to everything yet it is in a peacful area where there is no disturbance at night. Great Room Fantastic beds that are so comfortable, good size room, plenty of hot water, tea & coffee supplied, smells fresh. Food We did not eat in the hotel as there are so many restaurants in Amsterdam Staff They are there if you need them, and are very willing to help. I would stay again if i ever return to Amsterdam
