We have to say I expected a bit more from this place. It seems that they are advertising themselves as an international business-class hotel, but the room did not have the amenities one would expect for this class.

"For $80, Savoy gave us a suite - great deal!"
Stayed here in May. I found an internet price of 80 per night although their hotel brochure states that they will beat any internet price. Maybe becuase we stayed here for 6 nights, they gave us a very large room. Staff is very friendly. Concierge was really helpful. Aside from the nearby subway station, you can also take bus 37 to go to Recoleta or 12 to go to Plaza Italia. They both stop right in front of the hotel. They also allowed us to checkout after noon. Breakfast was very good. Although the menu does not change so it could get boring after 4 days.

"Great buy in a Dutch owned hotel in Buenos Aires"
The Golden Tulip Savoy is an older hotel but was completely remodeled and modernized recently. The rooms are very large with high ceilings, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are well equipped. A breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, and is excellent, far better than the much pricier Claridge where I also stayed. But the best part about the Savoy in my opinion is the staff. I do not speak Spanish and had never been to Buenos Aires before, so I required a lot of help. The concierge and front desk were extremly helpful. I advised the manager that I considered the entire staff to be outstanding. I will admit the hotel is a little off center, but with cheap taxis and public transport nearby, well worth the great rates for such a high class hotel. Charles Jackson Memphis, Tennessee USA

"a home away from home"
Our rugby team had 10 days minimum at this place - we didn't wreck it and we even had the staff on our side with beer and food flowing all hours. Rooms large, clean and comfortable. Internet great. Restaurant great breakfasts. Dinner was a limited menu HOWEVER the food and service were brilliant. We made friends with all staff and they treated us like KINGS. Made it all the more interesting as an Irish team, The Battleship Old Boys from USA and a south African team also stayed at the place. Everyone had a great time and any issues were dealt with courteously and with promptness. We didn't mean too however we did drink teh bar dry of beer on at least 6 occassions - they did the natural thing and replenished stocks. The Grand ballroom is something to behold - granduere of a day gone by. Ask to see it if you do stay. Yep, fantastic and will stay again. Easy walking to recolletta and staff made sure that any taxi we took had a quote for costs and advised us of routes.
