Goldener Baer Hotel
This hotel is located on the first floor of a building and it doesn't have an elevator. People with heavy luggage beware. We were there late spring and the weather was very hot, the room had no fans or A/C, we had to leave the windows open and there was a lot of noise outside.

Not a 3-star Hotel
This hotel is definitely not 3-stars. As an American living overseas for the last 19 years, I have stayed at a number of 2-star hotels, and this one fits that bill. The room itself is clean, but the hallway carpet is not. The carpet is frayed in patches. Breakfast room is tiny and not at all charming. It is crammed so full of chairs that walking through it is like going through a maze, and I am a small person. The place to attach the showerhead was broken, so it had to be hand held the entire time. The towels were thin, gray, and had the names of two other hotels on them. Through GTA, we'd asked for a double room and got a room with twin beds. When I spoke with the man at the front desk about getting another room with a double bed, I was told that this room was the only room available and that this hotel gets something from GTA that simply says they want a room for two people with no indication whether there should be one double bed or two twin beds in the room. He also proceeded to lecture me when I stated that the room was noisy, and asked what did I expect when I booked a room in the middle of the city? We were there the last weekend in May which was warm--about 26 degrees C--and on the front side of the hotel. The hotel faces a MAJOR road, is at a red light, and with the windows open (which they needed to be in such weather) is very loud. My husband and I got little sleep and this hotel was, for me, the greatest disappointment in my many travels. I only recomend this hotel if the weather is mild or cold and you are happy with a two star hotel that is below par.
